The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis a major overhaul of what players thought they knew aboutBreath of the Wild, but not everything is new. Just like its predecessor,Tears of the Kingdomhas a plethora of things for players to collect that reference theZeldaseries' most iconic items – and just about every game, even the DS games likeA Link Between Worlds, are referenced in some way.

One item that returns fromBreath of the WildisBiggoron’s Sword, which originally appeared inOcarina of Time. It’s a really strong two-handed weapon that can be further improved with Fuse, but players who don’t have the right Amiibo will have to travel to the far reaches –and deep Depths– of Hyrule.
Biggoron’s Sword in Tears of the Kingdom
Biggoron’s Sword is a mighty weapon indeed inTears of the Kingdom, as it was inBreath of the Wild, witha high 36 base Attack. It’s atwo-handed weaponwith aspinning charge attackthat continues as long as players hold down the Y button, and the item description directly references the Hero of Time fromOcarina of Time. In the Nintendo 64 classic Link was gifted this sword by Biggoron, and now all this time later it finds its way back into players' hands once again.
The item isone of the few unique, named items inTears of the Kingdom, but it’s not a one-time pickup that ceases to exist once its durability runs out. In fact, the two methods of getting this sword appear to be repeatable, either by visiting bargained Poe statues in the Depths, or once each day forplayers with the correct Amiibo.
Where To Find Biggoron’s Sword
Skull Lake
The first way to get Biggoron’s Sword inTears of the Kingdomis totravel to the far northern areas of the world.It’s found deep in the Akkala Highlands,around coordinates (3248, 3444, -0431)– an area called Skull Lake. It’s aptly named, not only because the islands and shoreline resemble a skull, but also because of what’s found underneath.

There’sa chasm herethat leads directly into a subterranean area in the Depths called theAkkala House of Bones. The area is also accessible from other areas of the Depths, but players will have to bash through a series of rock walls to get there. Once inside, Link will have to face off against a few waves of Stal-type enemies, including Stalkoblins and Stalfos, but after all waves are defeated,a boss shows up: the Stalnox.
It’s a Hinox, but skeletonized.Shoot arrows at the Stalnox’s eye, watch out for its max Hearts-reducing attacks, and defeat it tounlock a nearby chest that contains Biggoron’s Sword. Though the fight can berepeated over again with each Blood Moon, players will have to go to one of the Depths' bargained statues to get another once it’s been destroyed. But, that’s not the only way to get Biggoron’s Sword.
Amiibo
There are twoZeldaamiibo that can be usedto spawn Biggoron’s Sword:Young Link, and Ocarina Of Time Adult Link. Neither is guaranteed to drop this legendary blade, though, so players who desperately want Biggoron’s Sword shoulduse both Amiibos every dayto maximize their chances. Both Young Link and Ocarina of Time Adult Link will also provide the player with the Cap, Tunic, and Trousers of Time set, as well as meat. Young Link gives arrows, while Adult Link gives a Soldier’s Claymore, too.
