On November 25 at 5 PT/8 ET, WWE presents Survivor Series: WarGames. Unless there are any last minute changes, players can effect to see Gunther and The Miz compete for the Intercontinental Championship, to seeRhea Ripleyand Zoey Stark face off for the Women’s World Championship, to see Carlito face off with Santos Escobar after the latter’s heel turn, and two WarGames matches. The first is the babyface team of Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch against Damage CTRL (Bayley, Asuka, Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane), while the Men’s WarGames match is likely to end the night.
To hopefully settle a long feud, Team Cody (Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton) face off with The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh) and Drew McIntyre in what should be an exciting, emotional, and probably violet match. This exciting line-up is a doubled-edged sword forWWE 2K23, however, as this particular match cannot be played within the base game by any means. Of course, it’s not likeWWE 2K23developer Visual Concepts could predict this match happening at release, but it’s somewhat disappointing when an in-game match type does not line up with the real world thing.

WWE 2K23 WarGames Limitations
Although WarGames was a marquee match type ofWWE 2K23, it does not appear in MyGM Mode nor does it support 5v5 Match Types. In other words, anyone who enjoys usingMyGM Mode to replicate a WWE PLEcannot accurately do so with Survivor Series. As it stands, only two of the Survivor Series matches (the two title defenses) can be done in MyGM Mode. Carlito is also not available onWWE 2K23’s base roster, which is understandable.
Both Carlito and Kairi Sane are not in WWE 2K23’s base roster, though fans could create and use them via Community Creations.
On top of that,WWE 2K23’s WarGames match typeonly supports 3v3 and 4v4 matches in general gameplay. This means that the Men’s WarGames match cannot be played in the game. Every superstar involved in it is inWWE 2K23, but the closest fans can come is by playing 4v4 and dropping one of the stars. For example, one could drop Sami Zayn and JD McDonagh given their similar stats, or someone could drop Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre since they are effectively the fifth man being pulled in. Doing either doesn’t have the same impact, though.
Of course, it’s worth noting thatWWE 2K23developers have previously mentioned that feature parity between the core gameplay and MyGM Mode is a goal. In other words, it stands to reason thatWWE 2K24’s WarGames mode could appear in MyGM Mode, and that eventually MyGM will be on par with everything possible in the game. It would be great if, eventually, theWWE 2Kgamesare on par with anything typically done in the real world. Of course, there may be new match types, uncommon ones, or superstars not on the roster since anything can happen in WWE, but closer parity to real world matches seems like somethingWWE 2Kgames need to push for.
