The final boss of the Vault of the Incarnates raid inWorld of Warcrafthas been defeated on Heroic difficulty. The race to World First has begun forDragonflight’s opening tier, as top guilds around the globe compete against each other to see who will be the first to clear the Vault of Incarnates on Mythic difficulty. What makes thelaunch ofDragonflightso interesting in terms of the World First race is that the expansion’s opening tier once again released just in time for the holiday season, a point of major contention with Castle Nathria fromShadowlands.
It didn’t take long for Raszageth to be cleared on Normal difficulty, andWorld of Warcraftplayers got to see the ramifications of her defeat in a pre-rendered cinematic. As guilds moved through Heroic at a steady pace, Blizzard implementedseveral buffs to Vault of the Incarnates bosseson Mythic, and these changes will present a major obstacle in beating the enrage timer on healing-intensive bosses such as Terros.

The kill for Raszageth on Heroic difficulty was awarded to Liquid, as Echo and Liquid remain the two favorites to win the World First race. Though a Heroic Raszageth kill means little in the grand scheme of things, it is still the closest form of practice the team may get before it properly faces her Mythic encounter. The full party setup for the kill was composed of six healers, two tanks, and 22 damage dealers – with Priests making up half of the healer group, while Demonology Warlocks and Marksmanship Hunters were the most prominentWorld of WarcraftDPS specializations.
Unfortunately, it seems Liquid has killed Raszageth off-stream, meaning that players will have to wait awhile for a video on demand. With a full clear of Heroic, the Mythic race has begun in earnest, and Vesper put the rest of the guilds on notice by claiming the World First kill for both Eranog and The Primal Council. Vesper remains the onlyWorld of Warcraftguildthus far with two bosses killed, though Echo and Liquid will attempt to establish a lead before the day is done.
In a change from past raid tiers inWorld of Warcraft, Blizzard has also altered “Binds when equipped” items from Mythic difficulty into “Binds when picked up” while the race is ongoing, presumably to help curb the effects of trash mob farming. With Echo electing to do Normal difficulty yesterday over Heroic, they will likely pick up their Heroic Raszageth kill today, as the stage for another exciting race to World First has been set.
