Currently, it is theorized that the game will update during the last week of February, with either February 27 and February 28 as the most likely days, since previousDreamlight Valleyupdates have typically launched on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. It is possible that the update will be pushed into early March, as the December update - which addedJack Skellington- debuted early in the month.
What Will The New Dreamlight Valley Update Feature?
According to the2024Dreamlight Valleyroadmap, the next update will add a new Realm to the Dream Castle. The Realm is confirmed to be the world of the Pixar filmMonsters, Inc.,and is likely to feature the titular factory or one of the doors its “scarers” travel through to frighten children. Mike Wazowski will be added to the game as a new villager, as he appears on the roadmap. However, fans theorize that James P. “Sulley” Sullivan, Mike’s “scarer” partner, will also join. This is because Mike and Sulley are an iconic duo, and Realms tend to add multiple characters at once.
In addition,Skull Rock, a location just off Dreamlight Valley’s Dazzle Beach biome, appears behind Mike in the roadmap teaser image. While this may be just decoration, it could also be another hint as to the update’s contents. Skull Rock has previously been the subject of much discussion among villagers, with the Forgotten - an original character who started as an antagonist before joining the Valley - believing that someone or something is trapped inside. Current fan theories for the trapped individual are Peter Pan, Captain Hook, or a character from thePirates of the Caribbeanfranchise - or perhaps the entire Black Pearl ship.
No New Content Will Be Added To A Rift In Time
Notably, the next update, which the roadmap lists as coming in “Late Winter 2024,” will not include any new content for the paid expansionA Rift in Time. This means that allDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayers will be able to meet Mike and explore the new Realm. The paid expansion, which launched in December, will see new content as part of the Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 updates. The expansion sees the player traveling to a new location, Eternity Isle, and teaming up with Gaston, Rapunzel, and EVE fromWALL-Eto foil Jafar’s villainous plans.
