With a theme based around spies, an updated map full of new locations, cosmetic skins that come in multiple variations, and theinclusion of Deadpool, there’s a lot of new stuff that Season 2 ofFortniteChapter 2 has to offer, but as it turns out, some of the rarest additions actually consist of a few vaulted weapons that have made their way back into the game.
Such is the case with theBurst SMGthat was originally introduced back in May 2019, only now it’s called the Rapid-Fire SMG. As the name change suggests, the weapon works differently than its previous iteration, where it fired in quick bursts of four shots that could easily take out unshielded opponents. Now it quickly unleashes an entire magazine of 18 shots that, while being more inaccurate and dealing less damage per shot, can still absolutely shred through players at close range.

Rapid-Fire SMG Locations
In keeping with Season 2’s spy theme, there are a number of unmarked safe houses scattered across the map where players have a chance of finding a number of rarer weapons in chests locked by ID scanners. Of these, the Rapid-Fire SMG can be found in the following locations:
Opening Locked Chests
Compared to other weapons that can be found in the safe houses, like theHeavy Sniper, the number of locations where one can find the Rapid-Fire SMG is noticeably smaller. Still, the methods of unlocking the chests remain the same.
For the first method, players are going to have to confront the henchmen located around various locations, including the unmarked safe houses, and knock one down. At which point they’re going to have to carry the downed henchman to the chest and have them scanned to open it up. As for method #2, players can also get past the scanners by donning a henchman disguise, which they can get viaany of the phone booths located around the map. This is probably the trickier method of the two, being as the disguise can be easily lost is lost if players get hit or fire any weapons.
It should also be noted that specific weapons only show up occasionally in the safe house chests, so neither method guarantees that players will find the Rapid-Fire SMG on their first try. If that happens, they’re going to have to hit another one ofFortnite’s safe houses and hope for the best.
