[UPDATE:The next expansion has been confirmed as theSnowy Escape. An official trailer drops tomorrow.]
The Sims 4is constantly updating its content offering, although some go over better than others. The Sims 4’s Hispanic Heritage updateled to some backlash, but presumably, EA and Maxis are working on fixing the issue. Nonetheless, game development is often a juggling act, and the next expansion—an actual expansion—is right around the corner.
Now, a teaser added toThe Sims 4’s main menu has confirmed this expansion’s reveal, with more information set to come this week. The official tenth expansion forThe Sims 4will be receiving a trailer tomorrow, October 20, but beyond that, there’s nothing official known. Reports of these teasers were swift, but it’s also worth mentioning that it was removed from the game shortly thereafter. In other words, it seems like Maxis may have let the secret slip accidentally. Not that it was a big secret, though, as the existence of this newSims 4Expansion has been mentioned as far back as early September.

The Sims 4 New Expansion Reveal and Teaser Trailer
Assuming there’s no change in plans, the reveal trailer is said to release at 8 AM PT/10 AM CT on October 20. It stands to reason, if this new expansion follows the typical trend, players can probably expect some teasers as to the exact content on the trailer today. A small teaser forThe Sims 4’s 10th expansionisn’t out of the question, but it’s worth reiterating that Maxis appears to be trying to keep this on the hush hush. Regardless, when/if there’s a teaser revealed today and specifically when the expansion itself is revealed tomorrow, this article will be updated with the new material.
The Simmer’s Prayer: New Expansion Requests
One thing fans can expect is that, well, fan expectations are met.The Sims 4community has been vocal about some changes it’s wanted to see in the game, and while there’s been a dropped ball here and there, EA and Maxis seem determined to deliver on some fan desires for the game. These include, but are not limited to, better parenting systems and animations, better generational activities for children and elders, general improvements to someSims 4gameplay mechanics, and a lot of little touch-ups. It remains to be seen exactly what it includes, but with the game paying close attention to its community, there should at least be some wish lists out there that go a little more fulfilled.
However, back in September, EA and Maxis did outlinewhat NOT to expect from the nextSims 4expansion. This include drivable cars, farming systems, bunk beds, and making baby Sims playable characters rather than just objects. While this may be disappointing, it sounds like the expansion will still be a sizeable addition to the game, and hopefully, it checks more boxes than it abandons.
The Sims 4is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
