Anyone who has playedThe Elder Scrolls: Skyrimknows that the game contains its fair share of bugs and oddities. Open world games are typically full of them, with some bugs causing major headaches for players, while others just serve as temporary amusement.
ASkyrimplayer encountered one such bug following the death of a bard in-game. While the bard was dead, a glitch led to the musician looking like he was nodding his head to a high-speed tempo.

TheSkyrimclip was shared on Reddit by user Emery_Darkholme, who seems to be quite amused by the encounter. The clip is brief, showing the bard’s head nodding, while the rest of him remains completely still, as one would expect from a dead NPC. Rather than leaving it at that, the player overlaid a sped-up version of a songMarkiplierused in his videos' outros, matching the tempo of the head nodding perfectly.
It’s not entirely clearwhat caused this particularSkyrimglitch, though it may have been something as simple as a collision error. In many games, when two objects intersect, it can create a violent reaction until one or both of the objects are no longer occupying the same space. It may have also been a simple physics glitch, which are a fairly common sight in the game.
Regardless of the cause, other players were thoroughly amused at the scene. Many mused that the bard was a metalhead, still headbanging even in death. Others made a comparison toFamily Guy’s Quagmire, who often does a similar movement in the show. In any case, it’s a harmless glitch that just provides a bit of humor for the Dragonborn.
While there have been reports of somegame-breaking glitches in the Anniversary edition ofSkyrim, for the most part, any remaining glitches should be relatively mild, like this one. The game is over a decade old at this point, after all, and many fixes were deployed in order to fix the most egregious of issues with the game back when it was still fresh. Some of the remainingSkyrimglitches can actually be used to the player’s advantage. Others just provide bizarre moments like these, which make the game even more memorable, in its own way.
WithStarfield’s releasenearing, fans of Bethesda games will have to find out if the oddities its games have been known for appear in the new title, as well. It will feature a new game engine, so anything is possible.
SkyrimAnniversary Edition is available now for available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
