Wanda Notices Pietro Is Different

While some fans expected Wanda’s dead brother to make a return inWandaVision, few could have guessed that it would be theversion of the character from theX-Menmovies. As surprising as it was to the fans, Wanda seems equally confused.

Though she tries to play it off like this is a happy reunion, Wanda begins to realize her brother is not quite as she remembered him. The two seem to have different memories of their childhood and Wanda even asks at one point why he looks so different, both of which Pietro dismisses. With Wanda being in control of so much in Westview, it’s strange to see her as the one looking for answers. Perhaps she was not the one who brought Pietro back after all.

Vision Doesn’t Trust Wanda

The last episode also involved a tense confrontation between Wanda and Vision in which Vision revealed that he knows Wanda is behind all of this and that she is controlling the people. Wanda attempts to get their happy marriage back on track in this episode, but it is clear Vision no longer trusts her.

While he puts on the guise of a happy husband, Vision acts much colder to Wanda. She later finds out that he lied about his neighborhood watch duties and instead goes out on the town to do some digging into what is really going on.

The Twins Have Powers

As soon as Wanda and Vision’s two twin boys, Billy and Tommy, arrived they were on a fast-track to maturity. While this episode doesn’t show them aging rapidly as has happened in previous episodes, it does reveal the boys are super-powered, just like their parents.

Quite out of the blue, Tommy develops super-speed powers much like his uncle. Later in the episode, Billy proves to be gifted with his own psychic powers and he can hear Vision inside of his head. This iskeeping in line with the comic booksas Billy and Tommy became known as Wiccan and Speed respectively.

Monica Is Changing

Much like the last two episodes of the show, this one bounced between the events inside Westview and S.W.O.R.D. monitoring the situation from the outside. This included Monica Rambeau, Jimmy Woo, and Darcy Lewis going rogue to stop Director Hayward from making the situation worse. While most ofthe S.W.O.R.D. stuff felt like filler, it did reveal an exciting development for Monica.

When Monica insists on going back inside of Westview, Darcy reveals that going through the barrier has changed her DNA in some startling ways. It seems as though Wanda and her powers will grant Monica her own powers when she becomes the hero, Photon.

Agnes Is Under Wanda’s Control

Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor Agnes has beenat the center of many fan theoriessince before the show even aired. Some popular theories suggest that Agnes is actually the villain pulling the strings and manipulating Wanda. However, this episode complicates that theory.

When Vision is exploring the outskirts of Westview, he finds that many of the citizens are barely moving and trapped in some kind of trance. Vision finds Agnes in a similar state in her car. Vision pulls her out of her trance and she recognizes him as an Avenger before remembering that he is dead. While there could be more going on here, it seems to suggest Agnes is trapped under Wanda’s spell, just like everyone else.

Pietro Knows Wanda Is In Control

As Wanda continues to build this picture-perfect reality for herself, she seems to be getting more and more lost in the fantasy, refusing to acknowledge that any of it is not real. As Vision continues to investigate exactly what is going on, Pietro revealed he knowsWanda is controlling all of this.

When the whole town is out trick-or-treating, Pietro asks Wanda where all the children came from and even compliments her on how good of a job she has done with the illusion. That is enough to shake Wanda, but then Pietro makes a comment about Vision dying again which really suggests he not under Wanda’s spell like everyone else.

Vision Cannot Leave Westview

At the climax of the episode, Vision finally reaches the edge of town and pushes through the barrier. As the S.W.O.R.D. agents look on, Vision struggles to free himself, but his body begins to break apart the more he steps outside the boundaries of Westview.

This seems to suggestVision can only remain aliveso long as he remains in Westview. Of course, that seems to set up a very tragic ending to all of this that feels inevitable.
