As other players sink hours into creating beautiful works of art withinValheim, one player has elected to take their talents outside the game and is creating fan art of every single enemy in the game. Twitter user MRMNG4, having just finished the Mountains biome, has only the Plains to go before they complete their quest of drawing every mob inValheim.

MRMNG4’s journey began, as with the actual game, in the Meadows biome, and they have since moved on to each subsequent zone, drawing in detail even themost dangerous creatures inValheim. The undertaking seemingly began just over a month ago on March 18, yet MRMNG4 has managed to maintain an absurd pace, drawing an enemy a day for the last month. These aren’t simple sketches or doodles either, but fully colorized and detailed works that look more or less like official concept art.

As players continue to push architectural boundaries like recreatingHelm’s Deep from theLord of the Ringsfranchise, MRMNG4’s art is a reminder that fan tributes need not be confined to in-game creations. Their art is also a refresher of the incredible diversity in enemy encounters that are already included in the game as MRMNG4 has drawn all of the variations of each mob. For instance, in tackling the Swamps biome, the Draugr mob was drawn wielding a bow, a club, and a sword, and the Draugr Elite with an axe. Ultimately, each complete biome begins by illustrating each mob separately before bringing them together in a collage.

MRMNG4 called the Mountains biome one of the more difficult regions owing to its lack of humanoid anatomy, meaning that enemies like the Drakes and Moder took a while just to get started. Still, although the artist insists that some renderings turned out “janky,” it’s nearly impossible to tell which ones that would be referring to. In terms of individual stars, the ever-popular andabsolutely terrifying Trollmanaged to garner a lot of love from fans.

Even the rarer encounters in the game such asthe Rancid Remains, which are only found in the Burial Chambers of the Black Forest biome, managed to make the cut. Another enemy only found in those dungeons, the Ghost, which is essentially just a purple haze in the game, was brought to life by MRMNG4’s detailed drawings.

With only the Plains biome left, and a relative dearth of creatures found there, fans should expect MRMNG4’s journey to come to an end soon. However, astuteValheimplayers will notice that there are a number of encounters not included in any of the typical biomes such as the Serpent in the Oceans, as well asThor and Odin who appear at random, and Haldor, the enigmatic merchant. It’s unclear if MRMNG4 plans to include all of these niche encounters.
