WithWo Longout the door and thePinocchio-inspiredLies of Pon the way in a few more months, theWo LongTwitter account announced a strange, yet interesting collaboration between the two Soulslike games. While potentially exciting news for many fans ofWo Longand those excited forLies of P, no further details about the striking collaboration have been revealed, nor a timetable for when fans can expect them.

It’s odd that an announcement of this sort has been made with one of the games having yet to be released. More often than not, a collaboration such as this unfolds between two games that are already widely available. While both of these titles are Soulslikes, they can’t be any more different in terms of setting and style.Lies of P, which takes heavy inspiration fromFromSoftware’s Lovecraftian horrorBloodborne, is set in a dreary, mechanical 1800s Paris-inspired city. Meanwhile,Wo Longtakes place in China during the Han dynasty and has a gameplay style more akin FromSoftware’s other hitSekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

With that said, it’s difficult to imagine what exactly this collaboration would entail. Since both of these games are single player experiences, something like a limited-time mode or event seems unlikely, though not impossible. Perhaps a simple cosmetic costume swap is in the cards, since both games already make room for players to express themselves with different outfits and such, but that’s just speculation at this time. WithLies of Pset for a September release, fans likely won’t have to wait too much longer to learn more about this strange, yet interesting Soulslike collaboration.
