The massively popular online gameTouken Ranbuwill be getting another anime. The story will be based on the live-action stage playTouken Ranbu Kyoden Moyuru Honnōji, which was the first nonmusical stage play made for the series.
The play was first performed in 2016. Previously,Touken Ranbuhas inspired two other anime series. The first wasKatsugeki/Touken Ranbuin 2017. That same year, the filmTouken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Makuai Kaisōroku~was also released, followed by a series calledZoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaruin 2018. The most recent anime are a series of three films coming out this year from May to September calledToku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Setsugetsuka~.
