When it comes toStarfield’s Shattered Space expansion, players still aren’t quite sure what to expect. Very little is known about the game’s DLC, though fans who ownStarfield’s premium edition technically already own it, and will be able to access it at no additional cost once it drops. The little that is known about the Shattered Space DLC is that it will first and foremost serve as a story expansion, either appending a new chapter onto the game’s main storyline or potentially investigating a totally new side story altogether.
More than half a year afterStarfield’s initial release, however, fans have finally gotten an expected release window for the expansion. Speaking in an interview on the Kinda Funny Gamescast,Starfielddirector Todd Howard revealed that the expansion is set to release in Fall 2024 - perhaps not as soon as most fans would like, though it does beg the question of what an expansion released so long after the game’s initial launch might bring to the table. While Shattered Space unfortunately still seems like it’s a while off in terms of release, players can, however, look forward to a variety of big features that are set to arrive inStarfieldvia multiple updates in the meantime.
Some of these features have been highly-requested by no small percentage of the game’s active community sinceStarfield’s launch, and according to Howard during the same interview, will include more detailed city maps, new gameplay and difficulty options, improvements and additions toStarfield’s shipbuilding mechanics, as well as some additional surprises.
Starfield Fans Are Still Waiting on One Major Addition to the Game
It’s no secret that official mod support is one of the mostwidely-requested features forStarfield, with many fans believing the game to have practically limitless potential when it comes to the modding scene. Howard did briefly speak aboutStarfield’s upcoming Creator Kit during the interview, stating that while the team isn’t ready to share a release date for it just yet, fans can look forward to more information in the near future.
