Types Of Dyes In The Witcher 3
While finding dyes is difficult and requires completing quests, looting, and killing enemies, they can be crafted via alchemy. However, diagrams are required for each color to be able to dye armor.
Players can only dye armor if they own the Blood and Wine DLC. Dye diagrams will only become accessible once players get to Toussaint.
Fortunately, most armor dyes can also be bought from a dye merchant located south of Beauclair Port near the lake. The merchant sells dyes and dye removers, but they are limited in quantity and cost quite a bit.

How to Remove Dye from Armor in Witcher 3
While you can get a preview of how a dye of your choosing will look on your armor, you may have a change of heart later on after applying it. If you want to get rid of the dye you used, you can remove it via a Dye Remover.
You can find Dye Remover as random loot, or you can buy it from the Dye Merchant at Beauclair Port. The good news is you can use Dye Remover as you would apply dyes. After applying Dye Remover, your armor will return to its default look. This is a great quality-of-life feature that gives players the ability to undo a mistake they made while trying out different dyes.
It is worth noting that once a dye is used and removed, it cannot be used again. If you want to use the same dye again, you will need to find it, craft it, or buy more.
