While it can be good to have a more balanced character, players can lean more into stealth or combat based on how they want to approach potentially hostile situations inThe Last of Us 2. Regardless, a key skill tree branch that players pay attention to early on is the initial Survival tree, which gives a lot of helpful upgrades like faster health kits, an overall health increase, and Endure.
The next skill tree players can have access to is Crafting, but most of the upgrades are just time savers instead of huge benefits, so players may want to overlook those initially. However, craftingmelee weaponscan be really helpful, and improving health kit efficiency may be necessary if players are taking a lot of damage, so there are still some things players may want to pick up from that skill tree.
Stealth is the next available skill tree, and players in this skill tree as much as they can as soon as they have access to it. Even if a player is more combat-oriented, Stealth is always a helpful tree to invest in. The different skills in this tree are useful, so players can invest in whichever abilities they want and it would be a good choice.
The last skill tree available in the first half of the game is Precision, which has a lot of really good options. If players get up to the Precision skill tree and haven’t needed to buy into skills to get through the game, it would be invested in this tree. Precision gives players access to aim stability, extended listen mode range, the ability to holdEllie’s breath for longer, and additional arrow crafting, which are all really useful skills to have.
