For fans of Bandai Namco’sTalesseries, there has been no wait for a game as painstaking as the five year wait forTales of Arise. Announced two years ago, this is the longest fans of the classic JRPG series have had to wait for a new entry since the series' inception. To make the wait forTales of Ariseeasier, the game is set to be the most ambitious entry in the series yet, marking its debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and now the game’s file size has been revealed.

Tales of Arisewas first revealed at Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference. The game was revealed to be the first entry in the series to be built using Unreal Engine 4, re-imagining the series' beautiful worlds andaction-based combat systemin a brand new title aimed to appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers.Tales of Ariseis also set to be one of the darkest entries in the series yet, a move made to appeal more to western fans to broaden the series' appeal.

While Bandai Namco is currently preparing for the releaseScarlet Nexus, a new action game IP created by veterans of theTalesseries, the file size forthe PlayStation 5 version ofTales of Arisehas leaked online well ahead of its multi-platform launch on September 10. According to PlayStation Game Size, a Twitter account dedicated to tracking file sizes for games uploaded to PlayStation Network for PS4 and PS5,Tales of Ariseclocks in at 37.2GB. The account notes that this is without the inclusion of a possible day 1 patch.

As for why Bandai Namco has opt to makeTales of Arise’s file size public on the PlayStation Store this early is unknown, it could just be that the developer wanted to make this information public well ahead of the game’s release. There is also the possibility that Bandai Namco is preparing torelease a demo forTales of Ariseand this is an indication of the file size of the demo. After all, Bandai Namco did just recently release a demo forScarlet Nexusa month ahead of its launch. For now though, it’s only fair to temper expectations before assuming thatTales of Arisewill receive a public demo during E3.

Tales of Arisewas originally set to release in 2020, however it was delayed to 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the game’s development. The game will feature anime cutscenes from animation studio Ufotable, which is likely best known for its work on the animeDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibaand itsrecord-breaking filmDemon Slayer: Mugen Train.

Tales of Arisewill release on September 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
