Super Smash Bros. Ultimatehas been incredibly successful and has continued to change and grow with new characters and other additions. With the last of those characters released, its time for directorMasahiro Sakurai to kick back with his new Xbox Series X.
That doesn’t mean thatSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateis going to become stagnant of course, as there is still a healthy competitive scene centered around the game that will likely continue to grow and flourish. Of course, sometimes real life very much gets in the way of players showing what they can do.

Said pro is Charlie “Charliedaking” Antoun, who was recently scheduled to appear at the Mainstage tournament. Much to the disappointment and confusion of everyone involved, he never showed, and there was no explanation for some time. As it turns out, his fate was much worse than beingbanned like Epic Gabriel: Antoun was involved in a car accident. It happened on his way to Mainstage and he was only able to let people know much later via a tweet that reached organizers and fans alike.
According to Antoun, the car in front of him slammed on its breaks hard and he was unable to swerve or break to fully avoid it. His car slammed into a barrier and into the car in front of him, resulting in his car taking serious damage. Fortunately, both Antoun and his passenger escaped without serious injuries beyond neck and back pain and, of course, a totaled car. The people in the other car were also not badly injured, and their car suffered much less damage.
Unfortunately, the worst was still to come, as it turns out Antoun didn’t have insurance for his car and needs to raise a lot of money. He is reaching out to his fans through a GoFundMe page aiming to raise $12,000, and is one-third of the way there as of this article.Smash Bros.has some pretty dedicated fans, at least one of whom created afull tribute video to characters who never made the cut. Hopefully, Antoun manages to raise the funds he needs.
Antoun is one of the most prominent Wolf players in the game right now, a character whosome players forget exists. It’s a shame to lose him from pro play for a bit, but odds are he’ll have more on his mind for quite a while. Here’s hoping he gets back on his feet and his Wolf is soon dominatingSmashonce more.
