Wonder’s first trailer revealed a lot of exciting details about the new 2DSuper Mariogame, including the playable characters and some of the new power-ups that fans can look forward to as well. It also confirmed that the game will be a sort-of continuation of theNew Super Mario Bros.series by retaining 4-player co-op play. Wondercauses bizarre things to happen on-screen, with the examples shown in the trailer and pointed out on the eShop page being pipes coming to life and Mario transforming into a spiky ball. Wondertrailer being ridden by other characters, so it will be interesting to see exactly how Yoshi works in the final game.

Regardless of who is playable and to what extent they are playable,Super Mario Bros. Wonderwill support 4-player local co-opon a single Nintendo Switch system when the game launches later this year. This means thatSuper Mario Bros. Wonderwill not have any online co-op support. This may come as a disappointing revelation to some fans, but most likely assumed that would be the case considering previous games in the series.
