Farming Potential
While spacious enough, the Forest Farm has noticeably less space forplanting and harvesting cropscompared to some other farm layouts. That being said, if players get creative, there is definitely ample space to till and sow seeds. The only downside to this is that it may be a little harder for brand-new players to gain as much money from crops as they would with another choice of farm layout. However, they will likely be able to make it back with the ample amount of goods available to forage that can be found around the grassy spaces on the farm.
The number of tiles that can be tilled reaches up to 1413 tiles, with 1490 tiles that can’t be tilled butcanbe built upon.

Foraging Potential
The Forest Farm absolutely excels when it comes to the potential for foraging - in fact, that’s what the design of the map mostly revolves around. There are severalberry bushesscattered around the map that will allow players to harvest from them during the months that they’re ripe, and there are eight Large Stumps at the western edge of the farm that will respawn daily, allowing the player to farm for hardwood, a valuable resource throughout much of the game.
As well as this, there are also different seasonal forages that can be found inrandom areas on the farm. During the Spring, this includes items like Leek, Morel, Wild Horseradish, and Dandelion. When Summer comes, players can findSweet Pea,Grape,Spice Berry, andCommon Mushroom. Across Fall, the items include various mushrooms like Common Mushroom, Red and Purple Mushrooms, and Chanterelle. There is a 25% chance for each of these seasonal items to be found on the farm. As well as this, all of these items are necessary to finish the Community Centre, and they’ll all add to the players foraging skills, too.

Fishing Potential
Surprisingly, there’s a good amount of potential for fishing when using the Forest Farm layout. While fishing, players have a 5% of catchingWoodskip, which can typically only be found in the Secret Woods. There’s also an additional 45% chance tocatch other fishthat reside in regular ponds and rivers around the Valley. Players can also placeCrab Potsaround the water on their farm to be able to catch other fish, too.
However, usually,players will catch nothing but trash, which has a 50% chance of appearing while fishing. This may be fine for some players if they have ample amounts of bait to use, or if they have plenty of Recycling Machines ready to use. For many farmers, though, this may very well be a bit of a time waster. It’s up to the player to decide if they think it’s worth it or not.
