It has been three years sinceSquare Enixreleased its very lastValkyrie Profiletitle. First reaching western shores back in 2000, the role-playing video game experienced enough success forSquare Enix to produce more titlesfor the series until 2019. Now, it seems like the company may be hinting at a futureValkyrie Profiletitle. News has surfaced online that the Japanese company has trademarked the words “Valkyrie Elysium” in multiple regions outside of Japan.
2019 was the last year that fans ofValkyrie Profilewere able to play through a new game from the series. ReleasingValkyrie Anatomia: The Originon iOS and Android platforms, Square Enix seemed very keen on exploring and learning about the mobile gaming space during that time period. Though Square Enix filed a trademark for the title “Valkyrie Elysium” in Japan back in October 2021, news has surfaced that this trademark has been expanded to several regions outside of Square Enix’s home country. Of course, no official news can be expected from the company itself, but sources show that the trademark was only filed last July 19, 2025, making it a very recent development. This is not the first time thatSquare Enix has filed trademarksfor mysterious titles which eventually leads to announcements of actual projects that are currently in progress.
If the online sources are proven factual, fans ofValkyrieProfilemight have a new game on their hands very soon. This can be based on Square Enix’s trademark history, considering it hasfiled trademarks forChocobo GPand the upcomingDragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate. Square Enix was granted theChocobo GPtrademark last March 2021, with the game’s release date being May 24, 2025. Fans can therefore assume that news about “Valkyrie Elysium"may pop up within a year or so.
Nevertheless, whetherSquare Enixis currently working on a newValkyrie Profiletitle or a completely different IP, fans will likely still be interested in what the company will announce in the future. Given just how active Square Enix has been the past few years with its releases, it is not surprising for fans to feel excited about new video games, whether if it is from an old series or something completely brand new.
