Yet, despite praise from critics and fans alike, some fans have pointed out a few things inSpider-Man: Across The Spider-Versethat made no sense.

The things that made no sense inSpider-Man: Across The Spider-Verseare by no means dig at the film, but more so observations of the flaws of logic within some characters. After all, if Spider-Man preaches that with great power comes great responsibility, then surely he should follow closer to that advice.

11Can Comic Characters Transfer To Live-Action?
When Miles explores the Spider Society, he comes across an exciting cameo locked up in the prison section. The Prowler is locked in a cell, but this version of the character is live-action and played by Donald Glover, along with a new andcool suit that should be inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. Although it’s a fun cameo, it begs the question of what medium this story truly is, and what it means to have live-action elements and animation elements.
Donald Glover is not the only live-action cameo, as scenes from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’sSpider-Manfilms also feature. For Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, does this mean that if this animated version of Miles Morales was to enter the MCU, would he still be animated?
10Why Didn’t Spider-Man Offer To Help The Spot?
Spider-Man and the Spot begin their first battle at a deli, whereSpider-Man shows off some new abilitiesafter the Spot tries to steal an ATM. Their fight could have easily been avoided if Spider-Man left behind the quips and the webs in an attempt to learn more about this new and mysterious villain, who is not used to a life of crime, but has no choice.
Instead of trying to help cure the Spot of his dark matter plague, Spider-Man decides to do battle with him, while the Spot declares Spider-Man his nemesis. This begins a range of disruptions across the multiverse, as the Spot begins his multiverse journey to grow more powerful to take out his Spider-Man.
9How Did Miles Morales Not See That He Was In The Wrong Universe?
As Miles Morales escapes the Spider Society, he is transported to what he believes is his Earth. However, he soon comes to realize that he is on Earth-42, the Earth belonging to the spider that gave him his powers. Miles Morales finds out about this Earth too late, which causes him to be trapped in an alternate universe.
Of course, Miles was wounded after his battle with Miguel O’Hara and the Spider Society, as well as the overwhelming anxiety and confusion surrounding the fate of his Earth and the needed murder of his father. Yet, that doesn’t excuse the fact that Miles did not see the different building structures, chaos in the streets, and fires surroundingthis alternate New York.
8What Constitutes A Canon Event?
One of the most interesting aspects ofSpider-Man: Across The Spider-Verseis the introduction of a Canon Event. Canon Events are regarded as a moment that must happen, integral to the identity of Spider-Man, otherwise, that universe may be destroyed. Such Canon Events that are shown include the death of Uncle Ben, and the death of a Police Captain, usually Gwen Stacey’s father.

However, if these constitute a Canon Event, then how come there are some universes in which Uncle Ben lives? Thebest Spider-Man comicshave shown a few Multiverse examples where these Canon Events are not necessary to survival, and if not every Spider-Man is Peter Parker, then where is the line drawn with Canon Events?
7Why Was Earth-50101 Building A Super-Collider?
An important plot point of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse involves the Super-Collider, a particle accelerator built by Alchemax, funded by Wilson Fisk for the sole purpose of bringing back his wife and son from a different dimension. However, Earth-50101 seems to be building its own Super-Collider, and the question is, for what purpose?
This device was built for evil means. The device was hidden and even referenced by Miguel O’Hara as a catastrophic event. Yet,Pavitr Prabhakar, a Spider-Manthat is part of the Spider Society, seems none too concerned about the Super-Collider on his own Earth.
6Peter B. Parker Betrays Miles Morales
Peter B. Parker makes some questionablechoices inSpider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. As Miles’ mentor, he’s a figure to look up to, a friend that had a child so that one day that child could grow up to be like Miles. Yet, despite the high esteem he places upon Miles, it doesn’t stop his betrayal from happening and only adds to the tragedy of this event.
It just does not make sense for Peter B. Parker to betray Miles, to keep him prisoner to helplessly watch his father get murdered. Of course, Spider-Man wouldn’t be who he was without the death of Uncle Ben, but that does not mean that Spider-Man would let innocents die, and he would always find a way to avoid a Canon Event from destroying Earth.
5Is Insomniac Spider-Man A Real Spider-Man Or Not?
As Miles is taken through the Spider Society base, he passes through the prison section, which holds Spider-Man villains from across the Multiverse, including anexciting easter eggcameo by Donald Glover, who played Aaron Davis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yet, one of the more confusing cameos involves Spider-Man, more so, the Insomniac Games iteration seen in Marvel’s Spider-Man.

This Spider-Man is within the prison base and is labeled as Insomniac’s Spider-Man, begging the question of whether this Spider-Man is a real version of the character that exists in the Spider Society, or just a video game character set to be captured and returned to his own Earth.
4Why Did Miles Swing With The Cake?
As a celebration of Jefferson Davis making captain at his police precinct, Miles Morales is in charge of picking up the cake for his father. However, hilarity ensues as Miles balances the simple act of bringing a cake home, with the hectic life ofbeing the one and only Spider-Man.
Despite the troubles of ensuring Miles doesn’t use webs to destroy the cake, he randomly decides to use his webs when he is inside his apartment building. By Miles using his web shooters, he actively sabotages the two cakes he purchased for his father.
3Peter B. Parker Bringing His Daughter To Fight The Multiverse
Peter B. Parker has made some changes in his life ever since meeting Miles Morales. However, the most obvious change to his character is his happiness as a new father. Peter B. Parker has a kid, Mayday, with his wife Mary Jane. Everyone knows that Spider-Man can be somewhat irresponsible, so no one bats an eye over the fact that Peter brought Mayday to the Spider Society base.
However, what is most strange, is the fact that Peter B. Parker decided to once again take his child for a multiverse ride in perhaps the most dangerous job yet. Peter is going to travel the multiverse with Gwen to find Miles, faced with the opposition of the Spider Society, yet he decided to bring his child. It’s an odd decision.
2How Did Gwen Know How To Find The Spider-Team?
AsSpider-Man: Across The Spider-Verseends, Spider-Gwen makes her new band known. Spider-Gwen is joined by Peter B. Parker, Spider-Noir, Spider-Ham, Peni Parker, Spider-Byte, Hobie Brown, and Pavitr Prabhakar. Yet, how did Gwen assemble this team and locate them so fast?
Spider-Gwen has been working with the Spider Society for a few months, so it’s not out of the field of possibility that she would have learned how to find specific Spider-People across the Multiverse thanks to the knowledge of many other Spider characters, but it is still questionable.
