Skyrimwas a hit when it launched in 2011 and since then the game has been re-released for numerous consoles. For many,Skyrimis the ultimate RPGand the combination of a large open-world fantasy and considerable lore has made the game unique in a popular genre. A fan has now used the lore that features in the games in an amazing way and managed to answer their school essays in the dragon language of Dovah.

As players progress throughthe core campaign ofSkyrimthey learn dragon shouts, words or phrases that can conjure magical abilities. Players of the game will know that Dovah is a full language that goes beyond the shouts and can be used to create sentences, or in this instance essays. With that said, not all words can be translated from English and vice versa so the student has had to make some adjustments to their Dovah-based essays.

Reddit user NicolasYang248 posted on theSkyrimpage saying, “I wrote my essays and summaries for school in Dovah.” The student went on to ask whether it was “bad” and later clarified that they were in the 8th grade despite many expecting them to be in college. The majority of responses were amazed by the achievement, although it seems that the teacher has missed the reference. When asked about what the teacher said the student responded “He thought it was Chinese or Japanese or sth. Thank god I got a cool teacher this year.” While it is unfortunate that the teacher did not notice the impressive translation and research skills that went into the paper, the Internet is praising the 8th grader for their ingenuity.

TheSkyrimcommunity is still going strong and this is largely due to fan-made content. Whether it’smods givingSkyrimnew lifeor memes and shared experiences of the game, these activities still manage to attract fans. However, bringing the lore to a real-life situation in this way is a new high for the fans and it seems that Nicolas was not the only player to have the idea of learning the dragon language from the popular game. The challenging feat that Nicolas has achieved will rank for many as one of thebest real-life crossovers withSkyrim.

Comments expressed the desire to learn Dovah as well as acknowledging the difficulty of the fictional language. With this difficulty in mind, Nicolas has achieved an incredible Dovah essay, even if most people won’t be able to read it and may mistake it for another language entirely.

Skyrimis available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
