Kris Anka, a characterdesigner forSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, revealed a look at the concept art for Miguel’s white suit. Some fans may have noticed that in the background of the scene where Miguel and Miles first meet, something is being worked on in the background. It was hard to tell exactly what it was, but some fans thought it was Miguel’s White Suit from the comics. This concept art and the Instagram caption confirm this theory.
The concept art is interesting, as it only shows the suit being built and never finished or worn. In some of the concepts, it looks like the suit is being built as a robot, but it could also be more of an exosuit or other technology from 2099. In the comics, Peter makes his white suit with kevlar and unstable molecules for additional protection. Additional concept art from Anka shows that Miguel might have worn a black suit like in his original comic book run.
For those who don’t know,Spider-Man 2099’s suitwas originally black and red in the comics. However, they used blue for the highlights to show detail in the suit, which was very common for other characters at the time, such as Venom. Over time the character’s suit design became blue in other forms of media, and eventually, the comics made the design blue as well. The blue suit looks cool, but the original black design would’ve been interesting.
It is unknown whether the suit will be completed and worn inSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verseor if it will beleft as a Spider-Man easter egg. Considering how many details in the first film impacted the sequel, such as a bagel, it is not unlikely that the white suit will appear in the third and final film.
