On April 12, Twitter user GTA 6 NEWS was checkingdomains under Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive. Among the list, the user said they came across one that was updated that same day, and upon clicking it they were redirected to a random domain on the official Rockstar Games website. What caught their eye in particular was the domain name: rockstarcartel.com.
After being redirected, the address bar presents a “domain-check-failed” error message, apparently the result of unauthorized access. After more investigation, the Twitter user connected the domain name to Miami, known for its notorious reputation as the “Drug Capital of the World.” In screenshots, GTA 6 NEWS briefly goes into the history of the city, including some background on one of the top leaders of drug trafficking in Miami.
TheGrand Theft Autofranchise last visited Miami back in the iconicVice Cityand laterVice City Stories, and a return to the tropical city has long been in demand.Past rumors have already indicatedGTA 6may be set in Vice City, so it’s not entirely surprising. This is arguably the most concrete evidence regarding a sequel toGTA 5to date. It’s not an announcement or trailer, but it means that Rockstar Games might finally have enough work together that it is preparing to reveal something.
In the meantime, Rockstar fans have been doing a lot in the world ofGrand Theft Autoto fill in the void. Some modders have managed to add the Cayo Perico Heist to single-player mode forGrand Theft Auto 5, while others have been ambitious enough toturnSan Andreasinto aSpider-Mangame.
