With GPUs still difficult to get hold of because of the ongoing shortages, it seems as though this generation has been all but a theoretical one for gamers and PC enthusiasts who have been unable to procure any new hardware this past year or so. Whilegraphics cards are starting to come down in price, they are still above MSRP. That aside, bothAMDand Nvidia are looking to make the move into the next era, but before that, “team red” may be getting ready to launch just a few more RDNA 2 products.

According to a tweet from known leaker Greymon55, which references a post from the Chiphell forums, it’s possible that three more RX graphics cards fromAMDwill be making themselves known before the end of this generation. It seems as though, if true, an RX 6650 XT, RX 6750 XT, and RX 6950 XT could hit the market by April 20 or April 21 of this year.

Obviously, these are just rumors and nothing has been confirmed by AMD as of this article going live. However, the information that’s been leaked believes that the RX 6950 XT could be an attempt to muscle in onthe elusive RTX 3090 Ti from Nvidia, which “team green” has been keeping quiet about for some time, despite speculations it was being released a few weeks back. However, it’s possible that the 3090 Ti may be out by the end of this month, so it would make sense for its biggest rival to get a competitor product on the market sooner rather than later.

Not much is known about these fabled RX cards, but the leaks do suggest that they will have improved performance, and increased memory speeds of up to 18GBps. Outside that, there’s not much to go on, but if they do surface, then it seems as though AMD is wanting to push out some last few cards, even amidst theongoing tech deficit which could last until 2023.

WithNvidia possibly launching its 4000 series this September, andAMDalso announcing its RDNA 3 technology, there is precious little time for either company to waste if either wishes to squeeze as much out of this current generation as it can. Not to mention the fact that Intel is due to release its own brand graphics cards within the coming months, so it will be interesting to see whether “team blue” will give the more veteran firms in the GPU sphere a run for their money.
