The final aspect, AKA Perks, is a part of this game that a lot ofRumbleverseplayers “think” that they understand but actually don’t, at least not entirely. So, with that in mind, let’s go over what they are exactly, how they’re unlocked throughout a match, and what Perks players should always keep an eye out for.

What Perks Are & How They Work

Perks inRumbleverseare essentiallyPassive Effectsthat players can unlock mid-match that give background bonuses, modify how certain moves work, or a variety of other effects. There are Perks that reduce how much Stamina certain systems use, ones that add extra effects to the basic combo string, and ones that add ways for players to heal outside of just the standard chicken scrounging.

And, depending on the Perk, even beginner playerscan suddenly become much more difficult to fight. Depending on how lucky a player is, a single Perk can absolutely mean the difference between making it to the final ring and winning or getting KO’d in the mid-20s.

How Perks Are Obtained Mid-Match

To unlock Perks during either aSoloorDuo QueueBattle Royale game, players will need to pay attention to the Meter in the bottom right of their screen, as well as the Icons that will start popping up underneath it. This is thePerk Meter, and it keeps track of how manyPerk Pointsa player has obtained. When it fills up, the player is then given a Perk at randomfrom the list of 15 different possible options.

To fill this Meter, players will need to deal damage to other players. This is the only method of filling thePerk Meter, as it’s meant to passively incentivize active fighting rather than camping or hiding until the end of the match. Each point of damage done to other players translates to onePerk Point, anda full KOon someone elsegrants an immediate 200 Pointson top of whatever damage they did in the final combo.

That said, the amount ofPerk Pointsneeded to fill up thePerk Meterincreases each time a Perk is unlocked so that Players don’t just go full-aggro against the first few players they encounter and get 5+ Perks in the first 5 minutes of a game. From the start of a game, here’s how the amount ofPerk Pointsneeded increases per Perk obtained.

It’s honestly almost impossible to get to 10 Perks in a single match, and in most matches, players only reach 8 at the most when they’ve actively participated in fights just about the entire time.

All The Possible Perks & Perk Icons

As players unlock Perks, they’re incentivized to adjust their playstyle toward these Perks. For example, if a player getsBallisticas their first Perk, they’ll want to look for opportunities toDropkickopponents more, as the second hit this Perk adds to theDropkickcan cause opponents to wall-splat, leading to some absurd combo potential.

With that in mind, let’s go over the full list ofPerk Namesbelow andPerk Icons (which are all in alphabetical order from top-left to bottom-right in the image above)so that players can recognize them immediately in-game without having to pause and read what they do mid-match:

In general, the player base seems to greatly prefer Perks such asBallistic, Meditative, Bombastic, Nimble, andThe Burn. But, each Perk has its own uses and can provide massive benefits in the right situation.
