Apex LegendsSeason 6 began only yesterday, bringing with it a number of major changes to the game and anew playable character named Rampart. And with it still to be released on mobile and Nintendo Switch, developer Respawn clearly has no intention of slowing things down.
In a recent interview with GamesRadar,Apex Legendsdirector Chad Grenier was asked about possible PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X ports, which would make a lot of sense considering they’re the next major consoles. While he didn’t answer whether it will happen or not, he did express a lot of enthusiasm when posited with a potential Netflix series.

“Yeah, I would love to do that. That sounds awesome. A Netflix animated series of Apex? Sign me up!”
This isn’t a promise that it will happen, however, as he adds that development on the game is the primary focus, but he would certainly be on board if the concept was actually pitched.
“I think right now we’re focused on making the game but heck, if someone wants to pitch me something I’ll listen.”
A Netflix adaptation would make a lot of sense. Netflix already hosts similar and very successful shows like the animatedCastlevaniaand live-actionWitchershows (though that one is technically based on the books more so than the games). And more recently, it was announced thatUbisoft’sSplinter Cellwill be getting the animated treatmentwith a two season show, directed and written by Derek Kolstad ofJohn Wickfame. Unfortunately, there’s still no sign of a newSplinter Cellgame.
But with how largeApex Legends' cast has become, trying to balance everyone’s screen-time would be quite the challenge. The game doesn’t even technically have a main character, so there could be some debate as to who would headline this hypothetical show.
Fan-favorite Mirage could be safe bet, given his popularity with both the fans the developers, though we could also see the likes of Wraith, Loba, and Revenant receiving somewhat sizable roles.
Apex Legends’story and world-building has, for the most part, been built outside of the game itself, with digital comics and animated shorts that further flesh out its many playable characters. For example, the aforementionedRampart received one that provided backstory for her, as well as featured a character from Respawn’sTitanfall 2,Kuben Blisk, who served as that game’s main antagonist and is the creator behind the Apex Games.
There are plenty of direct connections betweenApex LegendsandTitanfall, with many fans hoping that this isleading up to a thirdTitanfallgame, but there is still no confirmation that it will happen. Lead designer Carlos Pineda has said that the team loves theTitanfalluniverse and is always excited to come up with ways to connect the two games.
Apex Legendsis currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version also in development.
