Summary

When choosing an Archetype inRemnant 2, a big deciding factor should be thetypes of perksthey can obtain since these can drastically change the way the game is played and the difficulty of enemy encounters. Each class will be allowed to obtain a single perk from each category, and this includes the Damage Perk which, as the name implies, is all about allowing a character to put out as much damage as possible with each attack.

These can vary drastically in effectiveness, especially regarding their upgrades, since while some perks will receive a small stat buff, others can become utterly devastating with how much more impactful they become. With that being said, it’s well worth knowing which of these perks are the best.

8Dominator - Summoner

The Summoner is arguably the most unique Archetype in the entire game, having a playstyle that entirely revolves around spawning minions and then attacking them to enhance the player’s overall damage output, and while Dominator is a decent perk, especially when it’s upgraded, it’s largely outshone by the Ruthless Prime Perk.

Ruthless will increase the minion’s attack damage and speed by 30% at its most basic level, and this can reach up to 50% when upgraded at level 10. Dominator on the other hand improves the actual summoner’s damage, but it’s only really worth anything when upgraded at level 6, and considering minions are the core component of the class, it is much better to enhance their stats as opposed to the character’s.

7Deadeye - Hunter

Deadeye certainly isn’t a bad perk, especially considering it can make small-group encounters an absolute cakewalk thanks to the extra weakspot damage, but the lack of boosted firing speed really does let it down, especially since this could have paired up with Urgency, which enhances reload speed to makethe Hunteran even bigger threat.

If the player is skilled at hitting the small glowing red weak spots that appear on some enemies, then Deadeye will prove to be much more effective, but there are still a few other Damage Perks that are far deadlier in practice.

6Shark - Invader

The Shark perk is fairly unique in the way it works, granting extra ranged and melee damage that can stack up to five times so long as the player keeps running around, making it perfect for a hit-and-run character that can jump in and deal as much damage as possible while also using the Shadow perk to cause a distraction.

The standard version of the perk isn’t too bad, but it’s really when the extra damage reaches 7% upon being upgraded where it shines, allowing the player to deal 35% extra damage with a full stack. Combine this with the upgraded Circumvent perk, which makes evading andperfecting dodgeseven easier, and the Invader will be capable of dealing almost as much damage as the more powerful classes while also taking minimal damage in the process.

5Liquid Courage - Alchemist

Consideringthe Alchemistis designed to be more of a team player as opposed to a DPS class, it’s quite surprising just how much extra damage the Liquid Courage perk grants the player once it is finally upgraded at level 6, but it’s the lack of any special abilities or buffs outside of the damage and crit chance that hold it back slightly.

With that said, it’s still an extremely generous Damage Perk, which makes the Wrangler 1860 and Bone Chopper far more viable, capable of dealing with smaller enemies in a matter of seconds.

4Pack Hunter - Handler

A lot of the Hunter’s kit is centered more on survivability than damage output, especially considering that theiranimal companionis capable of reviving the character whenever they go down, but Pack Hunter helps to balance this out by adding a staggering amount of extra damage to the class.

Since the companion will already be capable of dealing 20% damage on their own thanks to theAttack Dogskill, being able to then add on 30% extra ranged damage from Pack Hunter can wipe out stronger enemies easily, especially when aiming for a weak spot. Having the Guard skill active with this perk can ensure the Handler takes barely any damage while throwing out a whole lot of it themselves.

3Close Quarters - Challenger

While the perk itself may not seem very flashy or exciting in how it is described, what is most important about Close Quarters is that it will increase “All Damage,” meaning it isn’t restricted to melee or ranged, and will buff any attacksused by the Challenger. Not only does this give the player a little bit of variety in how they want to build their character, but it also makes it even more difficult for the Challenger to die considering that the Die Hard perk will already make them invulnerable when near-death.

The 10% critical chance is amazing when paired up with certain Mutators that also enhance crit chances, such as the Overdrive Mutator, which will drastically improve the Iron Greatsword.

2Shift Shot - Gunslinger

While he may often need a little extra support to take down strong bosses and larger enemies, the Gunslingercan make very quick work of weaker enemies with his Western Classic and Quick Draw skill, to the point where he doesn’t even really need Shift Shot since he can already throw out so much damage, but the perk certainly helps to make him a threat to those on the opposite side of his barrel.

In order to melt enemy health bars in just a few seconds, players should try combining the Quick Draw trait with the Swift Shot and Loaded Prime Perk, which can tear apart boss enemies, demonstrating exactly why so many players think that the Gunslinger is one of, if not the best, Archetype in the game.

1Metalworker - Engineer

The Engineer’s three Skills are all Heavy Weapons that will remain active until their ammo is fully depleted, so they’re definitely already incredibly powerful on their own, but as soon as the Metalworker perk reaches its upgraded state at level 6, these weapons become near-unstoppable.

Alongside the amazing buff of 50% extra damage, the extra ammo reserves, max health, and weakspot damage all mean that so long as the Engineer and the team protect the Heavy Weapons, they will only need to provide covering fire while the Engineer’s creations do what they do best, making an absolute mockery of enemy monsters.
