Rockstar Games’Red Dead Onlineis like any other online game in terms of the community being a reflection of our society. WhileRed Dead Onlineseems to have its share of griefers, there are also NPCs who will stop them in their tracks.
A Redditor called WhitDoodle recently posted a video to theRed Dead Redemptioncommunity in which he’s nearly defeated by an enemy. The video begins with WhitDoodle being stomped on by aRed Dead Onlineplayer known as Tommiboi7893 after dropping off a bounty of his own. The griefer had apparently already been shooting up the town and the NPCs were already agitated by the cowboy in the white suit.

While stomping on WhitDoodle, Tommiboi7893 aggravated a nearby NPC who had pushed close enough to the two cowboys to get hit by the same attack. After attacking both WhitDoodle and the nearby NPC, Tommiboi7893 retreated in a serpentine fashion while crouched. TheNPC pursued theRed Dead Onlinegrieferto no avail, as he was slain almost immediately. The few moments of reprieve gave WhitDoodle the time to recover and rise to his feet.
WhenRed Dead Onlineplayersare attacking NPCs or other players in towns, certain NPCs start watching for aggression and become hostile if players are nearby. According to WhitDoodle, this NPC may have saved his character’s life in that moment as he would’ve otherwise been another victim to Tommiboi7893’s killing spree. Instead, the player was able to survive and overtake the town’s griefer.
Once recovered, WhitDoodle performed a running takedown on Tommiboi7893 which is a powerful and immobilizing ability. Just as WhitDoodle began the fight at a disadvantage, Tommiboi7893 was now at a disadvantage. The initiator tried to perform an attack once he had recovered but it was to no avail as WhitDoodle hit Tommiboi7893 with a flurry of punches that resulted in the end of the white-suited cowboy’s disruptions. Just like many action heroes, WhitDoodle walked away into the horizon after his victor which wouldn’t have been possible without the help from theRed Dead OnlineNPC.
One Redditor was quick to point out that the NPC saved WhitDoodle when Tommiboi7893 was stomping him into the mud. TheRed Dead Onlineplayer responded with appreciation for the NPC that was nearby during his attack. There are many otherRed Dead Onlineplayers looking to grief others, but if more NPCs were like this one, they might think twice.
