Vehicles inCall of Duty: Warzonehave had to be disabled on more than one occasion owing to exploits and game-breaking bugs. Vehicles have recently been disabled inCall of Duty: Warzoneagain after players have found a way to use them for an exploit to gain access to a secret area.
In September 2020 vehicles inCall of Duty: Warzonewere disabled temporarilyowing to a game-breaking glitch that could cause a match to end for an entire lobby. The glitch would occur when players would take vehicles out of bounds on the map and stop the warning timer, which would cause the match to end prematurely. Raven Software had to temporarily disable vehicles in order to fix the glitch, as it was wreaking havoc on the player experience.

Raven Software’s reasoning for disabling vehicles inWarzonethis time around was to stop players from glitching themselves inside Golden Vaults. These special locations contain high-level loot and are normally only available to players once they have completed a community challenge and collected a list of in-game items. A few crafty players found a way to subvert this by using a vehicle to allow them to clip through the wall of the vault and gain access to the loot without completing the community challenge or collecting any items.
A Twitter user posted a video of themglitching into the Golden Vaults using the vehicle glitch inCall of Duty: Warzone. The video gained a lot of attention and was likely one of the reasons Raven Software became aware of the glitch. This prompted the developer to disable vehicles in the game temporarily until a patch could be released to fix it.
The glitch does not seem to affect the experience ofWarzone, which makes one wonder as to why Raven Software were so concerned about it.Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers seem to be more concerned about snapshot grenades being overpowered, as the recently buffed restock perk allows players to spam them and see through walls knowing they will replenish in only 25 seconds.
A more interesting change that the game is set to receive in the season 3 update is thenerfing of sniper rifles inCall of Duty: Warzone. Raven Software’s Senior Creative Director noted that the game’s meta has stayed the same since launch, which is why nerfing sniper rifles could change up gameplay for the better.
