As of the time of this writing, theNintendoSwitch has sold over 210 million game copies on their system, and it’s easy to see why. The fantastic little system is home to a fantastic range of games that can be played at home or on the go. Today, we’ll be ranking the top ten highest selling titles on the system. WhileFire EmblemandSuper Mario Maker 2have probably since entered this list, we don’t have sales data from them just yet. Let’s get right on into it.
101-2-Switch
If1-2-Switchhad been, let’s say $10, or a solid $0, it might be a bit higher on this list. But alas, it was sold for a full $50, right next toThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildfor only $10 less (andSuper Bomberman R,but eh). This game simply doesn’t stack up to the other launch competitors, and especially can’t nowadays. It’s a glorified tech demo that could and should have been a pack-in title. However, it was a full-priced game, which is why it takes a spot on the list.
9Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!
If theLet’s Go!titles were your first everPokémongames, they’re probably very enjoyable. However, for veterans of the series, they’re feature-missing titles that miss the mark in a variety of ways. Sure, there are some improvements like Pokémon appearing in the overworld, but for me those are far outweighed by less appealing features that make these games a boring romp through Kanto for the 246th time.

8Mario Tennis Aces
The most competentMario Tennistitle in recent memory, we haveMario Tennis Aces.The game is far more of a worthwhile package than its Wii U predecessor, featuring more… everything. More courts, more characters (Chain Chomp yes), and an entire campaign to play through. The game is tons of fun, and is truly a return to form for the series. The game received free updates into 2019 in the form of new characters. With the full roster now available to play, it is now the time to jump in onAces.
7New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
This game’s worth comes down to whether or not you’ve played it, or its numerous predecessors. The title comes packaged with all of theNew Super Luigi Ucontent, along with some new playable characters. If you’ve played it on the Wii U though, there’s no real reason to buy it on the Switch. Considering that this entire game can basically be remade inSuper Mario Maker 2, why even bother? A fun time, but not a necessary one by a long shot.
6Super Mario Party
Super Mario Partywas a return to form for the long-running series. While the game is fun, there is just so much room for more. More boards, more mini-games, more everything, and this game is a great candidate for DLC. Unfortunately, it seems as if Nintendo isn’t interested in any sort of DLC for the game, which is simply preposterous. While the door is obviously never closed, there’s been no announcement so far.
5Splatoon 2
Splatoon 2is the follow up to the breakout Wii U title that did everything better. The game is a fantastic, team-based shooter that is centered on covering the field with the most of your team’s ink color when the timer runs out. The game is an absolute blast, and features many modes beyond the main attraction to keep players interested. Add in a full story mode (and a massive DLC expansion) and you’ve got yourself a fantastic title that deserves all the love it receives from its loyal fan-base.
4Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
The highest selling Nintendo Switch title out there, we haveMario Kart 8 Deluxe.The revamped multiplayer title features 48 different courses to race through, along with an entirely new battle mode with fantastic modes to play through. They’ve literally got cops and robbers in this thing. If you’re looking for a game that the whole family can pick up and play, this is the one for you.

3Super Mario Odyssey
Super Mario Odysseyis a follow up to64andSunshineand wow, does it follow up. The game is jam-packed with Moons to collect through its variety of different open worlds you have to explore. The game controls perfectly and has secrets hidden in just about every corner of its kingdoms. Dress Mario up however you’d like (preferably in a wedding dress because that’s an option for no reason at all) and get going - you’ve got a princess to save! Again. You know what, she can wait, go explore.
2Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
This storied crossover fighting game made the leap to Nintendo Switch in December of 2018, and took the gaming world by storm. Featuring a massive roster with representation from all of the biggest franchises in the industry, snappy controls that are a joy to play with, and speedy gameplay that keeps the game feeling action-packed no matter what, this game has it all. Oh, and there may or may not be an entire single-player adventure mode to play through if you want. This game truly deserves the title ofUltimate.
1The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The final (and certainly not most obvious) title on the list, we haveBreath of the Wild.What is there to say about this game that you haven’t heard? The massive, explorable world can be explored for well over 100 hours, and is filled with secrets and treasures to find. If you take only a minute to immerse yourself in this game, you won’t be able to put it down. If you own a Nintendo Switch and don’t ownBreath of the Wildyet, just throw yourself straight into the trash. After that, go pick up a copy of this breathtaking game.
