As part of an ongoing event,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers can redeem a Mystery Gift code and score something useful for a limited time. The news arrived as part of a big week forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, which shared details of the new event during the June 21 Nintendo Direct broadcast.In the opening segment of the Nintendo Direct,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetpulled back the curtain on what players can expect when The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC launches this fall and winter. The segment featured in-game footage from both The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, including some previews of which Pokemon players may encounter in the upcoming adventures. In addition,a new 5-star Tera raid battle against Gimmighoulstarted following the conclusion of the Nintendo Direct. Though players will have plenty of opportunities to catch the Coin Chest Pokemon, that is not the only thing that arrived with the news.RELATED:Pokemon Fan Imagines Fuecoco as a Futuristic RobotAt the time of writing until July 31,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers that enter the Mystery Gift password “TREASUREHUNT” will receive one Friend Ball, 10 Nuggets, and 10 Rare Candies each, but only once per game. The giveaway arrived followingthe conclusion of the previousPokemon Scarlet and Violetdistribution eventin which players could score a free Gastrodon while it lasted. However,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will have just over a month to claim these items. While Nuggets and Rare Candies can be obtained via Tera raid battles, the Friend Ball is a bit harder to come by. Like other Poke Balls that were originally fromPokemon Gold and Silver, the auctions in Porto Marinada are one of the main ways to obtain Friend Balls via normal gameplay.
While the Mystery Gift event runs through the entirety of July, the ongoing Tera raid battles against Gimmighoul will last until Sunday, July 2, with each raid den having increased odds of hosting a Shiny Gimmighoul instead. While it can be hard to tell the differences between a normal and a Shiny Gimmighoul, defeating and capturing the Coin Chest Pokemon is a surefire way to check. Initially, these 5-star Tera raid battles had an issue with the items that were rewarded upon completion. However,a hotfix was pushed to correct the problem, andPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers can now safely take on Gimmighoul in Tera raid dens.
Thoughthe release of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zerois still months away, this new event will providePokemontrainers with some entertainment in the short term. While the event runs its course, it will be interesting to see what Tera raid battles and giveawaysPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill host in the future.
