ThePokemon GOValentine’s Day 2022 event is now officially liveand keeping players busy over the rest of this week and the coming weekend. The limited time event is jam-packed with bonuses, Pokemon debuts, and special Battle Raid Bosses; so there’s something for every type of player to enjoy.
WhilePokemon GOtrainers are out and about enjoying the rest of the Valentine’s Day event, there will also be the opportunity to complete two event-specific Collection Challenges. For those who aren’t familiar, Collection Challenges are usually event-specific challenges that task players with collecting a certain list of Pokemon during a limited time. Players who manage to catch all of the Pokemon before the window ends earn a list of rewards.

This time around, the big motivation for completing the two collection challenges is going to beFrillish encounters (both male and female). In addition to the guaranteed encounter, players who complete each challenge are also in for a modest amount of XP and Stardust. The item rewards aren’t all that powerful considering the quantities up for grabs, but completing the challenges should still be worth the effort for most players thanks to the encounters.
2000 XP
2000 Stardust
Four Pokemon each is a pretty short list for a Collection Challenge, so trainers shouldn’t have a very difficult time completing both lists within the event window. The Pokemon on the list should all be fairly easy to obtain thanks to the event’s other increased spawns, Field Research, and Battle Raid appearances. That means trainers shouldn’t have to go through too much extra work and will likely cross every item off both lists just by playing the game during the event window.
The rest of this year’s Valentine’s Day 2022 event is full of pretty useful bonuses and features as well, so this should be a popular weekend for the mobile AR game. The appearance of a handful of new debuts and a new Pokemon form are usually enough to get the majaority of players engaged as they try to put in the work to get close to thatever elusive complete Pokedex.
In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during thefinal days of the Season of Heritage. Be sure to check back in the near future for morePokemon GOstrategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
