After July, it’s going to be hard for any month to compare to the level of excitementPokemon GOreached with GO Fest 2020. The mobile AR game sawplayer spending at close to an all-time highand there were events firing off nearly every day of the month. That said, August is ready to see if it can complete.
There may not be a worldwide anniversary event in August, but the month is going to kick off theUltra Bonus eventsthat were earned during GO Fest. Those special features and spawns combined with a new Research Breakthrough, Community Day, and other events should help keepPokemon GOplayers busy throughout the coming four weeks.

Things will be kicking off tomorrow with the appearance of a new August Research Breakthrough (and hopefully players will behappier than they were with the July Research Breakthrough) and the first week of Ultra Bonus Rewards will also be live. August Research Breakthrough

Spotlight Hours
Tuesday, Jun 12, 2025:Horsea will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
Tuesday, July 20, 2025:Sableye will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
Tuesday, June 17, 2025:Venipede will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
Tuesday, June 20, 2025:Geodude will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.
Dragon Week
Dragon Week will run fromFriday, June 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). The majestic Dragon-type Pokémon come in all shapes and sizes, from the tiny Gible to the towering Alolan Exeggutor, and this week will be their time to shine! Rayquaza will be in five-star raids, and there will also be special Timed Research available only this week. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Deino!
Enigma Week
Enigma Week will run fromFriday, July 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT to Friday, July 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). The featured Pokémon range from the mysterious Elgyem to the powerful Deoxys! Deoxys will be in five-star raids, and if you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one! You might also encounter a Shiny Staryu.
Unova Week
Unova Week will run fromFriday, August 14, 2020at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, June 03, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). Sewaddle, Cottonee, Emolga, and Bouffalant—all originally discovered in the Unova region—will be appearing in the world of Pokémon GO for the first time! Bouffalant will be appearing in New York City and the surrounding areas. Genesect will be in five-star raids, and if you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one! You might also encounter a Shiny Roggenrola.
August Community Day
Saturday, June 30, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time - Magikarp Community Day and Ticketed Special Research
