With thePokemonseries having several different designs across the generations, some look incredibly cool and ferocious. This can be seen with Pokemon that take after some more primal creatures like dragons or dinosaurs, such as Tyrantum or Salamence. Some Pokemon are even more intimidating when they have been scaled up to a giant’s size, as seen inan older anime episode that featured giant Pokemon. One fan decided to not only make statues that depicted them as giants, but full-on kaiju monsters.

This is no surprise, as some Pokemon designs are clear shout-outs to the many different kaiju monsters that have made appearances throughout the years. Some of them can even grow larger than normal, thanks to theDynamax mechanic introduced inPokemon SwordandShield. While not every Pokemon has a unique Gigantamax form, the inspiration from the Kaiju genre has not gone unnoticed by fans. This paves the way for one fan to create some brilliantly designed statues inspired by the titans.

Posted to thePokemonsubreddit by user Becca3D, these statues depicted Charizard, Tyranitar, and Nidoking as hulking behemoths. They showed off not only the gigantic size, but also their pre-evolutions. This can be seen with very small 3D printed figures of their first forms, like Nidoran, Larvitar, and Charmander. Even their final forms are represented, but on a much smaller scale, before showcasing them next to the colossal titans for comparison. These designs make them feel at home and ferocious as monsters like Godzilla himself.

The thing that make these Pokemon feel like kaiju monsters can be seen in the incredible detail that goes into them. This includes jagged and rough scaly skin, with incredibly pain-staking features that can be seen on their bodies. This even includes the size and shapes of the statue’s heads, with Tyranitar itself having a face very similar to Godzilla. The Nidoking looks incredibly terrifying, with its many spikes and rocky body. The final kaiju statue is arealistic take on Charizard, with battle damage seen in its wings. Fellow users praised the amount of work that went into these statues that make them feel like these Pokemon would fit in the Monsterverse.

This isn’t the first fan depiction of kaiju Pokemon. There was one concept artist from theDetective Pikachufilm who created someart of Godzilla in thePokemonuniverse, complete with an evolution chain and a Gigantamax form fromPokemon SwordandShield. With this fan’s design, it brings to mind that the creativity in thePokemonfanbase is endless, with the creation of amazing pieces of art.
