Summary
Some of the most unique creature designs seen throughout thePokemongames were introduced inPokemon Legends: Arceus, and one fan has created their own set of modified starter evolutions similar to those seen in thePokemongame set in the Sinnoh region’s distant past. Community discussion has recently been focused on rumors surrounding a potential newLegendsgame to arrive sometime in the next couple of years, though what the next officialPokemongame will really be has yet to be officially revealed.
Pokemon Legends: Arceusdid introduce a few new Pokemon, as well as many new forms for existing creatures within thePokemonworld. While the game’s selection of starter Pokemon consisted of critters that are already well-known to fans, Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott did receive entirely new Hisuian variants of their final evolutionary forms. These new forms boasted new designs, types, and even new signature moves, and have inspired fans to create their own custom starter evolutions of similar nature since the game was released.
In anticipation of a potential newLegendsgame being revealed in the near future, one artist known online as yzziB has shared some of their own custom starter evolution designs. These designs feature Delphox, Torterra, and Swampert, with each of these popular starter choices fromthroughout the many generations ofPokemongamesreceiving new appearances and types alike. While each retains their primary type, the artist’s Delphox design bears much closer resemblance to its previous evolution, Braixen, while also having its Psychic type switched out for the Fairy type. Torterra becomes Grass and Rock-type while carrying a mass of crystals on its back, and Swampert becomes Water and Poison-type.
According to the creator of these designs, they were made with theunofficialPokemon Legends: Celebiconceptin mind. This title has circulated through thePokemoncommunity for a while now, with the idea suggesting a game set in the Johto region that’s similar toPokemon Legends: Arceus, but featuring the Gen 2 mythical Pokemon Celebi instead.
While the premise of futurePokemon Legendsgames has persisted sinceLegends: Arceuswas released, widespread rumors based on leaks suggest that anotherPokemon Legendsgame may actually be in development. Though little is yet known, it seems that the spotlight will be on both theUnova and Johto regions in the nextPokemongames, though fans will likely have to wait until Pokemon Day to get any official information on what’s next for the franchise.
