Pokemonfan art and fusions are nothing new. For nearly as long as the franchise has existed, fans have enjoyed art that depicted two Pokemon or more being combined. This sometimes even crosses over with other franchises or leads to fans creating new Pokemon, such as one artist who madestarters based on Sonic, Mario, and Link.

Now, one artist known as jaibrooklyn on Reddit has shared a mashup painting where they combine two of the most popular franchises today:Pokemonand Marvel. Crossing the always-popular Alakazam over with Doctor Strange, jaibrooklyn creates an impressive piece of art.

As seen below, the painting maintains Alazakam’s easily identifiable facial features, appendages, and stance, but its clothing is clearly reminiscent ofDoctor Strangeas well as the magic it is casting. Overall, it’s incredibly popular and one of the recent mashups done by jaibrooklyn. Recently, they’ve also created mashups of Venom and Gengar, as well as Lucario and DC’s Batman.

Redditor jaibrooklyn also asked what fans on the Pokemon subreddit would like to see next, and there were some awesome suggestions to bring in Pokemon and other franchises into jaibrooklyn’s particular style. Some of the standout ones include Scizor x Iron Man or Scizor x Deadpool, Mewtwo or Genesect x Iron Man, Mewtwo x Vision, Joltik x Miles Morales, Hulk x Machamp, Ditto or Zoroark x Loki, Tyranitar x Doomsday, Infernape x Goku, Treecko x Cell, and Marowak x Thor.

Of course, there were plenty more awesome ideas fans can check on the Reddit post above, and it seems jaibrooklyn is dedicated to continuing this artwork. They’ve commented that they don’t want to reuse characters, which only eliminates Lucario, Batman, Venom, Gengar, Alakazam, and Doctor Strange. Given the sheernumber of Pokemon available in the games, jaibrooklyn probably isn’t running out of potential ideas anytime soon.

Not to mention, thePokemonfranchise may have recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.Pokemon Legends: Arceus, for example, releases this month and is a new iteration on the franchise. By going back in time (in a way),Pokemon Legends: Arceusintroduces new evolutionsthat aren’t common in the “modern-day,” like Kleavor, and these Pokemon could serve as further inspiration.

And, even on top of that, there have been mild rumblings ofPokemonGen 9being on the horizon. Not much has been put on these, but withPokemon SwordandShieldturning 3 this year and most Pokemon generations lasting 3-4 years, there could be even more Pokemon for inspiration sometime in the near-ish future.
