The recent launch of the tiered PS Plus subscription service givesXbox Game Passa new competitor with a similar model, but even by Sony’s own admittance,it’ll take years for PS Plus to catch up to Game Pass. When it comes to gaming subscription services, after all, Game Pass has become iconic and it’s almost expected nowadays for major titles to launch on it.
Of course, not all AAA third-party games will, and one would assume that PlayStation console exclusives wouldn’t either. In a shocking move though, it seemsGame Pass has been teasing the addition of a PlayStation console exclusiveover the past few days, and it has now been confirmed.

On August 23, 505 Games and Kojima Productions will be bringingDeath StrandingtoPC Game Pass. Console-wise, the game is still only available on PS4 and PS5, but the PC version will then be accessible on PC Game Pass. Game Pass had been teasing this by changing its profile picture on Twitter, slowly making the background look more and more likeDeath Stranding, so this doesn’t come as a surprise now, but still, a PlayStation exclusive on some form of Game Pass is quite the shock.
Windows 10/11 PC gamers will be able to access ultrawide mode, photo mode, a high frame rate, andcrossover content forDeath Stranding, as well as a few items that will unlock throughout the game’s story: Chiral Gold/Omnireflect “Ludens Mask” Sunglasses, Gold and Silver Power Skeleton, Gold and Silver All-Terrain Skeleton, and Gold and Silver Armor Plate. While there are still some questions to be answered, 505 Games and Kojima Productions will answer them soon. The companies are going to create a Community Q&A guide in the coming days and encourage fans to keep an eye on social media for this information.
Death Strandingsought to establish a new “Strand” genre that was all about connections. Indeed, this idea is very much at the core of 505 Games bringing this version of the game to PC. Bringing in more Porters means more possible connections within the PC community. And for those who haven’t played it before, now is a good time as Kojima Productions shifts focus to its new titles: therumored sequel toDeath Strandingand a new Xbox project codenamedOverdose.
