PersonadeveloperAtlushas teased an unannounced title that is still waiting for an official reveal. The mysterious game was mentioned as part of some recently shared staff comments onAtlus’s plans for 2024and beyond.

2023 has been a fairly quiet year by Atlus’s standards, with the Sega-owned company releasing just one new title during this 12-month period in the form ofPersona 5 Tactica. On the other hand,Atlus has already planned out a fairly stacked 2024, which will includePersona 3 ReloadandUnicorn Overlord, both of which are scheduled to hit the market in the first quarter of the year.Metaphor: ReFantazio, the studio’s first new IP in over a decade, is also set to be released in 2024.

But those aren’t the only projects that are currently in the works at the company, according to long-time Atlus producer Eiji Ishida. In a recent interview with Japanese outlet4Gamer, Ishida revealed that he is currently working on an unannounced title whose release date has yet to be determined. Although the industry veteran did not elaborate on the matter, the wording of his comment implies that he is not the director of the mysterious project. For reference, Ishida directed a number of past Atlus titles, includingShin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey,Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, andSoul Hackers 2.

Besides Persona 6, Atlus Is Currently Reportedly Working on 2 More Unannounced Games

The unannounced game mentioned by Ishida could end up being the mysterious project “Asa” that’s been rumored for a while now. Described as a party-basedPersonaspin-off, this title was last mentioned in a mid-Novemberreport narrowing down the release window ofPersona 6. On that occasion, known Atlus insider Midori suggested that the company was planning to both announce and release Asa sometime in 2024.

Midori also believes thatAtlusis currently working on yet anotherShin Megami Tenseigame that’s “connected” toSMT5. That title is an ostensibly even better fit for what Ishida’s latest comment could be referring to. Namely, anySMTproject at Atlus was historically handled by the company’s oldest development division and Ishida’s own unit, Team Maniax.

Meanwhile, aPersonaspin-off such as Asa would nowadays fall under the purview of P-Studio, which has been in charge of the subseries since being established in 2006. P-Studio is also the unit that’scurrently working onPersona 6, whose existence was originally confirmed back in summer 2021. However, according to recent reports,Persona 6isn’t planned to hit the market before 2025.
