During what seems to be an intense King’s Row match inOverwatch 2, a player discovers that one of the walls on the map acts strangely compared to the others. Though it has been part of theOverwatchmap rotation for years, the changes implemented to King’s Row withOverwatch 2may have caused a problem that this player didn’t anticipate.
A Reddit user has come across a wall that doesn’t provide any protection inOverwatch 2’s King’s Row, causing speculation about how long it has acted this way. Because King’s Row has been inOverwatchsince the first game’s beta period, many map issues like visibility and brightness have been resolved, as well as an area that Sombra could glitch into. While these other problems have been adjusted through regularOverwatchupdates, it’s currently unclear what happened with the physics of this King’s Row wall.

Reddit user ATGNKC39 has garnered 2,200 upvotes on their video highlighting the peculiar wall on King’s Row while they heal teammates asOverwatch 2Support hero Mercy. TheOverwatch 2clip begins with the Mercy soaring toward an allied Bastion and Ana to top off their health bars just before an enemy D.Va activates their ultimate ability on the payload as it pushes forward. In an effort to avoid D.Va’s explosion, ATGNKC39 falls back to behind the wall that lowers upon the arrival of theOverwatch 2payload, but even as they kneel on the other side, the D.Va ultimate kills the Mercy and the Bastion they were healing. Although it’s unclear how the Mercy died while hiding behind the King’s Row wall, theOverwatch 2D.Vakillcam hints that their downfall may have been the result of a well-placed mech. The killcam shows that the enemy D.Va placed their mech on the payload as they were ejected from it and started firing upon other players, with the vehicle moving to just barely be in the line of sight of the Mercy. Because this Mercy had just enough time to tuck behind walls on either side of the payload pathway, they may have survived if they chose a different spot, but they may have avoided the attack if the D.Va hadn’t found the perfect angle for the kill.
Going beyond the clip highlighted in their Reddit post, ATGNKC39 has also done someOverwatch 2testingto get the precise details on what happened when they died on King’s Row. The player was able to recreate the experience on different maps using the same angle from the Mercy point-of-view to show that the hitbox doesn’t seem to crouch as far as the camera suggests, an issue that may be adjusted in a futureOverwatch 2update.
Overwatch 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
