Summary
One Piecechapter 1100 was absolutely massive for many reasons and as this incredible Kuma flashback enters its climax, a lot of incredible information about his life is being revealed. Chapter 1100 of the story showcased Kuma becoming a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and, at the same time, the reaction of the world to this news as well.
Surprisingly, fans also got to see the reaction of Ace to this incredible news and in the midst of all this, it was also revealed thatAce was recently in a massive battle, where he ultimately ended up defeating a member of the Shichibukai, whom Kuma ended up replacing later on.
Ace’s Journey Across The Grand Line
Ace left on his journey to becoming a pirate three years before Luffy. This means that around this time, Luffy was a 14-year-old. Ace left on his journey and was shipwrecked not too long after. He landed on Sixis Island, which fans ofOne PieceLive Action will remember very well. On this island, Ace was shipwrecked andhe met Masked Deuce, who, later on, ended up becoming his right-hand man on the Spade Pirates. On this island,Ace found his Devil Fruit, the Mera Mera no Mi and this devil fruit gave him the power to manipulate flames. Ace gained this incredible Logia power and secured an escape from this island and later on, established the Spade Pirates.
Ace made quick work of the rest of the enemies that he faced on the seas and eventually, reached Sabaody. On Sabaody, Ace, for the first time, fought against an enemy as strong as a Vice Admiral of the Navy. He took part in combat against Vice Admiral Draw and this fight was incredibly hard for him, especially because the Vice Admiral was a user of Haki. Despite having a brilliant Logia ability, he struggled against him to some extent, however, given the genius that he was, Ace awakened Haki in this fight and ended up defeating Draw. From there onwards, his pirate crew headed towards Fishman Island and into the New World.
Ace In The New World
It is in the New World that Ace ended up fighting against this Shichibukai who he ended up defeating. Fans do not know anything about this Shichibukai and there are absolutely no hints in the story in regards to who this character really is. It could end up being a character who’s never been revealed in the story, or, it could be a character who might be given relevance later on in the plot. Regardless, what fans know is thatAce ended up defeating this Shichibukaibefore he joined the Whitebeard Pirates. This is confirmed because, in the short flashback that fans got during the Paramount War arc, it was clear to see that Ace was offered the position of Shichibukai before he joined the Whitebeard Pirates. As such, it makes sense that, upon entering the New World, Ace immediately fought against the Shichibukai and defeated them.
When he did that, he was offered the position of Shichibukai and he ended up rejecting it. A short while after that, Kuma was given this position and successfully made a part of the Warlords. Ace then ended up joining the Whitebeard Pirates after his fight against Whitebeard himself and, by the time the news of Kuma’s joining was made official, Ace was actually already well integrated into the crew.
Which Shichibukai Did Ace Defeat?
As mentioned earlier, fans do not know who the Shichibukai that Ace defeated is, however, a few ideas have surfaced that could hint at the identity of this person. Given that Oda usually does not like to leave fans hanging and ties everything very well into his story, it is very likely that the person who he ended up defeating could be someone who fans will meet later on in the story. This is especially true because Ace is a character who has drawn a connection to almost everywhere Luffy visited in the New World. As such, it is possible that the person who he defeated will come back in the Final Saga at some point. A very popular idea suggests that the person who is defeated was the man carrying the last Road Poneglyph.
It is already very well known that the person who is in possession of the last Road Poneglyph is known asthe Man with the Burn Scar. Given the fact that Ace possesses the powers of the Mera Mera no Mi, it is entirely possible that he was the one who marked this man with his flames in the first place. It is also known that this person travels in an all-black ship with black sails. Recently, fans saw Dragon’s all black to be sailing the seas, however, the sails of this ship were all white. This casts doubts on whether Dragon truly is the man marked by flames. It is quite likely that this person is someone else entirely and, could end up being the Shichibukai that Ace defeated. As to why a character that is defeated would carry a Poneglyph so important, only time can tell. The fact that there are so few clues about this person means that fans cannot deduce much else. However, the fact that this person has a scar caused by flames suggests heavily that it could have been Ace who did it to him.
While this idea might seem far-fetched to some, one must remember that Ace has been directly tied to every saga in the New World so far. In the Fishman Island Saga, Ace was directly tied to the plot through Luffy and his Red Hawk and the fact that Luffy did not want to lose anyone ever again. In the Dressrosa Saga, which consisted of both Punk Hazard and Dressrosa, Ace’s Devil Fruit was incorporated into the plot. In the Four Emperors Saga, Ace became an extremely important character in Wano. Now,One Pieceis in the Final Saga and Ace is already tied to the plot once again.
Perhaps, Ace could have already met with the Man with the Burn Scar and when Luffy ends up meeting this character, he will find out about Ace and his clash with this person in the past. This makes sense, given how important Ace has been even years after his death. Of course, it could also simply be someone that Oda will never reveal him in the story and that he just exists for the sake of the plot. The only thing fans can do right now is sit back and observe the story moving forward.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that Oda will provide the fans with an answer anytime soon, given that this was a very small revelation in a very dense chapter and isn’t going to be relevant anytime soon. Fans would have to wait for the flashback to end and the Eggead War to conclude in order to find out more information about the man with the Burn Scar and the Shichibukai that Ace defeated.
