WithFortnite’scataclysmicThe End eventthat took place at the tail end of October last year, many thought that they had seen the popular multiplayer shooter legitimately close up shop for good. Of course, fans eventually found out that the now-iconicFortnitemoment was merely a catalyst for Epic Games to shake up the game, introducing a second chapter with a new map, different weapons, and a variety of other major changes.
Many have cited that this is where the game began to suffer, however, with a number of major fans claiming that Epic Games dropped the ball when transitioning intoFortnite Chapter 2’scontent. One of these criticizers is none other than popular streamerNinja, who had a lot to say regarding how the game dropped the ball following its highly-regarded release of The End event.

Speaking to his stream, Ninja claimed “you know… I’m going to be honest, I talked to the guys [at Epic]. I don’t know what’s going on but I know more than others: Epic lost their way, they got lost. They lost the communication, they lost the community. They just got lost.” He continues, “Along the way there was just this f***ing massive disconnect. Something was dropped, and it was never picked up. I’m not saying it’s particularly a bad state, but that’s whyFortniteis in the state it’s in. Updates, patch notes, everything.”
Clearly,Ninja isn’t happy with the wayFornite’sdeveloped in recent months, claiming that Epic Games really lost the momentum it had gathered when jumping into Chapter 2. He didn’t go as far as to claim everythingFortnitehad invested time into was bad, however, highlighting “we’re getting cool s**t, we had Star Wars, a Star Wars trailer, the Travis Scott event was one of the coolest things ever been seen in gaming history.” However, it merely seems as though Ninja is telling Epic Games that it needs to work harder on gameplay and communication, stating that these huge events are “not gameplay… The amazing things thatFortnitecan do have split from the gameplay.”
Regardless, Ninja does admit that he feels as though Epic Games are “coming back,” so hopefullyFortnitewill eventually become the game fans want again. Ninja himself has received some harsh criticism as of late, with the streamer speaking out on accusations that he’s toxic. This follows statements made by the streamer which have been controversial within his community, including claiming hackers were a result of bad parenting as well as infamously stating that players who don’t get angry when they lose have a “weak mindset.”
