On theWorld of WarcraftPatch 10.2.5 Public Test Realm, the new Night Elf city of Bel’ameth is being built, including a number of portals connecting it to other places in Azeroth. Beyond simple convenience, this new feature proves theWorld of Warcraftrace isn’t abandoning their homelands on Kalimdor for Amirdrassil–one of the biggest fears many players had about the new storyline.

The main plot of Patch 10.2, Guardians of the Dream, was the defense of Amirdrassil, the World Tree that would become anew home for the Night Elves inWorld of Warcraft. In the epilogue, Amirdrassil moved to Azeroth proper, just east of the Dragon Isles. Bel’ameth, the new city located on Amirdrassil, immediately began construction, but many fans were worried the Night Elves would be forced to abandon their ancestral homes on Kalimdor in favor of this new place.

Luckily, some details from the Patch 10.2.5 PTR have dispelled this particular fear.World of Warcraftfan and PTR explorer Portergauge was among those who discovered several portals located within the growing city of Bel’ameth. Using them, players can quickly travel to and from Stormwind, as well as multiple major locations on Kalimdor important to the Night Elves. While these portals are a huge conveniencefor fast travel inWorld of Warcraft, it also proves that Night Elves aren’t moving out of Kalimdor either.

What Portals Connect to Bel’ameth in World of Warcraft?

Were that not enough proof, manyfriendlyWorld of WarcraftNPCscan be seen wandering around Bel’ameth and the surrounding areas. While some are new settlers on Amirdrassil, many are visitors from places like Hyjal and Val’sharah, implying they still make their homes elsewhere.

Night Elf fans were glad to seeWorld of Warcraftadd this piece of worldbuilding to the game. For some, the otherwise beautiful epilogue for the Night Elves was marred by the fear that they would be forced to move to the Dragon Isles, so proof of the opposite is most welcome. While some still wish Amirdrassil would have been located closer to Kalimdor in the first place, these portals prove that they aren’t simply turning their back on the past–and that Bel’ameth is going to be amajor hub city in the future ofWorld of Warcraft.
