In an interview with UK video game news outlet GameCentral,New Pokemon Snapdirector Haruki Suzaki from Bandai Namco Studios spoke on the origins of the project, the process ofchoosing which Pokemon will appearin the upcoming game, and more. When asked why it took so long for aPokemon Snapsequel to be made, Suzaki recalled hearing about several attempts to revive the series in the past.

It seems that for one reason or another, plans to create a newPokemon Snapgame always ended up falling through, and one reason could have been hardware limitations. Details on the failed attempts at bringing backPokemon Snapwere not revealed, but the director explained that in the 20-odd years since the release of the original Nintendo 64 game, video game hardware and photography have both changed drastically. It seems that with advancements in technology in both realms, the Nintendo Switch was the perfect platform to revivePokemon Snapon.

Earlier this week, Nintendo and Fujifilm announced a collaboration brining fansNintendo Switch compatibility with the Instax Mini Printer.The device will allow players to print polaroid photographs of their Nintendo Switch screenshots. Additionally, Fujifilm will release an Instax Mini Printer with a Pikachu-themed silicone case on the same day asNew Pokemon Snap.
