But according to a new press release, one old friend may have just been confirmed to be coming back toNEO: The World Ends with You.
Somecharacters have been confirmed forNEO: The World Ends with Youalready,but there are plenty of things that are up in the air, as well. Thankfully, a new press release has detailed some interesting information about the upcoming highly anticipated RPG, including details about a character named Shiki.

For some, the upcoming release ofNEO: The World Ends with Youis a reason to play the original for the first time.The World Ends with Youon the DS is seen as a stylish and beloved RPGby many. So the following information could be seen as a spoiler for those who have’t played it yet.
Towards the end of the DS gameThe World Ends With You, the companion named Shiki escapes the Reaper’s Game. Shiki is a seamstress in the game and she makes clothes and even a stuffed cat named Mr. Mew. Her exact fate at the end ofThe World Ends with Youis not fully known, but Mr. Mew has made appearances in images forNEO: The World Ends with You.
On top of Mr. Mew being inNEW: The World Ends with You,the lovable stuffed cat appears to be the mascot for a new brand that has completely taken over Shibuya; that being Gatto Nero. There is abit of an obsession with Shibuya, and now the district has an obsession with Mr. Mew and the new brand.
All of these clues together could mean the return of Shiki. There is a legitimate chance that Shiki and Eri (Shiki’s best friend) have teamed up as business partners and created this new brand. It would be an interesting way to bring the fan-favorite character back forNEO: The World Ends with You. Shiki and her plush pal certainly appear to have been around before Gatto Nero. Fans shouldn’t have to wait much longer, however, to learn if Shiki and Eri are behind Gatto Nero and if they are in the new game or not.
