The reboot ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas been well received by many fans despite some noting areas for improvement. The latestModern Warfarehas been a huge commercial successand with its substantial player-base, there have been plenty of oddities that have been uncovered. However, few could have anticipated the counter move to a finisher that one player experienced and shared on Reddit.
TheCall of Dutyfranchise began seventeen years ago and through a variety of different battlefields, it has managed to entertain fans with its online and offline gameplay. As a result,theCall of Dutyseries has been one of the best selling in the last decadeand it was unsurprising to see the reboot of one of the most successful games in the series be well-received. Despite the well-known and popular first-person shooter gameplay, it seems that the game still has a few surprises.

The player approached an opponent from behind to begin a finishing move. Unfortunately for the attacker, the player was holding a throwing knife, and when the move began the attacker was killed by a counter-attack which left them with a knife in the chest. It seems that this move was not deliberate and the comments on the video explain that when a finishing move begins the opponent will drop their weapon and this would make a throwing knife active. Despite looking like a deliberate counter-attack theCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayer has dropped the active weapon into the player attempting to perform a finishing move.
Whilethere are many underrated weapons inCall of Duty, the throwing knife may become increasingly popular after this video. It is difficult to check what weapons a player has equipped when behind them so many players may take this video as a warning and begin shooting their opponents and risk engaging in a battle. Conversely, others may begin using the throwing knife more regularly in hopes of avoiding a surprise death.
There are plenty of tricks forCall of Dutyplayers to exploitand fans will likely try holding a throwing knife when suspicious of an approaching player. With that said, it would be a difficult technique to master and the developer of the title, Infinity Ward, may update the issue if it is utilized to frequently. Whether players use this technique or not, plenty of fans are still being amazed by this video which showcases the very fortunate and the incredibly unlucky.
