Atomic Heartis quite the challenging action role-playing title. Alongside the difficult to defeat enemies are avariety of new and exciting mechanicsfor players to learn while exploring the facility. However, with so many new things to remember it is easy for players to either forget the simpler mechanics or constantly die to things they don’t understand.

Players shouldn’t worry as they aren’t the only ones making these errors while playingAtomic Heart. That’s why these are thecommon mistakes players should avoid makingin the future to not only improve their chances of survival but also turnAtomic Heartinto an even more enjoyable experience.
8Leaving Their Inventory A Mess
Similar to the likes ofResident Evil, players are able to freely move items around in their inventory due to being in a grid-like format. This means that a player’s inventory can quickly get filled with unnecessary junk that jumbles together in a way that ;eaves a lack of space for other far more important items.
Thankfully, players areable to sort their inventory automaticallyas well as store items unwanted items at the upgrading robot known as Nora. Many players tend to forget to do this which can lead to a lack of space for weapons. Players can also upgrade the amount of space they have to explore with more items.
7Focusing Too Much On The Story
Players must first complete a whole underground lab before they are able to finallyadventure through the open-worldofAtomic Heart. While the map may not be as big as other open-world titles, there are still a fair number of locations for players to explore as P-3.
It is incredibly easy for a player to forget this is the case and dash straight towards the next story mission forgetting about the Testing Grounds that are littered around the map. It is incredibly essential to visit these places as they contain upgrades for the weaponry the player needs to defeat the dangerous robots as well as a break from the action to complete a variety of puzzles.
6Leaving Items Alone
While a player is not likely to forget about the healing items they will be requiring constantly after being attacked by a group of robots. It’s easy to miss out on the other items P-3 can make the most of to both heal himself and deal damage to others.

Besides the usual heals, players can find items that not only restore health but also restore the energy of Charles, so they are able to continue using weapons like the Electro to defeat the onslaught of robots. Cartridge Guns are another item players forget to use that are vital for besting enemies in battle especially as many of them are vulnerable to certain elements.
5Avoiding The Dodge Mechanic
When a player first beginsAtomic HeartIt’s easy to get overwhelmed by the combat especially when the Lab Techs which are the most commonly encountered robot tend to throw themselves at the player with little remorse.
Freezing up is not the right way to deal with these enemies and players will need to quicklyremember to dodge attacks. While certain hits won’t be as deadly it’s important to remember that when the player sees a red circle on an enemy they need to dodge, or they will be thrown across the facility with a critical attack.
Combat continues to be the area ofAtomic Heartthat players are likely to make the most mistakes in. While the weaponry used by P-3 doesn’t contain any silencers sometimes the best approach to a battle is taking some sort of stealthy approach.
Players are able to sneak up behind enemies to stealth kill them instead of running straight into a group of robots where the player can be easily overrun. Each enemy should be faced on the player’s terms and therefore approaching all foes cautiously and looking out for cameras can keep P-3 afloat.
3Forgetting To Visit Nora
While Nora may be a little intimidating at the start of the game, and she does tend tosay some very strange things, but players shouldn’t forget to visit her whenever they enter a safe room. This over-sized red fridge is responsible for upgrading both the abilities through Charles and P-3’s weapon upgrades, without Nora players would be left with minimal defense against the variety of robots and organic foes that lurk across the facility.

It is important for players to continue to check in with Nora to ensure they are spending their Neuroploymers as well as upgrading elements of their weapons with the materials and recipes they have located.
2Not Using The Scanner To Its Full Potential
P-3 wouldn’t be able to survive on his own without theassistance of his robotic gloveCharles. While Charles is essential for protecting P-3 against enemies by using the abilities players can unlock, he also makes a pretty handy scanner while exploring inAtomic Heart.
Scanning with Charles can help the player locate hidden items, extra bits of lore as well as resources the player has forgotten to collect that could help improve them. However, the scanner is also vital when planning to attack enemies as it can tell the player what the foe is vulnerable or resistant to, so they have the best chance of survival.
1Forgetting To Save
By far the biggest mistake players are going to make, travels even further than justAtomic Heart. Players will always forget to save no matter what game they are playing, butAtomic Heartcan be rather unforgiving about this.
There are few places in the game where it will automatically save for the player, so they don’t have to. While exploring outside the story missions players will have to fend for themselves when saving, and therefore it’s essential to knowwhere save stations areto avoid losing hours of progress from dying to a saw with legs.
Atomic Heartis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
