The rhythm shooter genre is fairly new to players, and unlike most shooters in modern gaming, they can be rather tough because players need to stay on a specific beat in order for their attacks to have a punch. Not only is it over the top likeDoom,but it also borrows the Hell aesthetic from the game, which renderedMetal: Hellsingerthe musical version ofDoom.However, like other rhythm shooters, players will often make these mistakes because they’re so used to shooters likeDoom,which in turn can makeMetal: Hellsingerharder to play. But, if they correct these issues by reading this list, players will have a more enjoyable time playing this enjoyable rhythm shooter.

5Paz

SinceMetal: Hellsingeris arather fast-pacedand roguelike game likeHades,momentum counts quite a bit. It helps to keep the combos going longer, which in turn, makes the rhythm easier to follow. What helps maintain the combos as well as the beat is the skull players get at the start ofMetal: Hellsingercalled Paz. He acts as the narrator for the main character, but he’s more than that. Paz is the second weapon players get, and while he’s not strong, he can help maintain the combos.

They can use his long-range shots and he doesn’t need to be reloaded. Fans can keep up the pressure on the enemy because they will be consistently attacking with Paz, every beat. The mistake is that players may not use him at all throughoutMetal: Hellsingerbecause of his damage, but that’s something they should realize, which is that Paz is meant to maintain combos, and create breathing room rather than do much damage.

4Only Using The Shotgun

In all rhythm shooters, weapons are quite important, and they all act differently. This is an area that bothBPMandMetal: Hellsingerare similar in. Each gun players get inMetal: Hellsingerwill give them a different playstyle, and just likeBPM,not all are the same interms of damage. The shotgun, or Persephone, is the first real weapon players get inMetal: Hellsinger.it’s quite an easy gun to use, deals tons of damage and helps players stay on beat, which is something players need to do, just like inBPM.

But as players progress down Hell, the game will start becoming overwhelming, to the point where the shotgun just isn’t enough. Thankfully,Metal: Hellsingeroffers them tons of options to take on the hordes of enemies coming the player’s way. The shotgun is great as mentioned before, but in many areas, it doesn’t work as well, which is why players should change this up. This way, they are more diverse, and in turn, make the combat a lot more fluid and immersive. Plus, if they use other weapons, players can develop more strategies that can makeMetal: Hellsingera lot easier.

3Missing Out On The Multiplier Tokens

These are tokens that are scattered around each stage and can pad player’s multipliers, or start one. While they can get by killing enemies in a constant flow without getting hit, this is a good backup to have if the multiplier isn’t active. There is usually a 1-time multiplier, which is good for maintaining them, and there’s a 16-times one which is good for getting players into the rhythm since it’s the highest point. One of the things that fans enjoyed aboutMetal: Hellsingeristhe scorekeeping, and these multipliers allow them to do just that.

Not only do they get the score up, but they also help players time the attacks. As mentioned before,Metal Hellsingeris about rhythm, and things get easier once the rhythm is fully hitting. When players reach the 16-times multiplier, the vocals kick in, and that helps quite a bit when they’re trying to hit every beat. Because now, when that happens all of their shots will be ranked perfect, and do a lot more damage. If players pair this with a weapon that can be shot on every beat like the dual pistols called The Hounds, they can fight a lot more aggressively.

2Just Using Styx Healing

Metal: Hellsingeris one of the easier rhythm shooters for players to get into, but at the same time still quite challenging. But, the game does offer tons of ways for them to heal up, both during the fights and between different arenas. For one, they can use the green Styx Crystals to heal, which is a great way to heal since itbrings back all, if not most of the health. However, players will notice that they are quite limited, especially during the boss battles. When players use all the crystals, they’re gone, and that makes things harder. This rule is applied to all the fights inMetal: Hellsinger.

However, since the game borrows fromDoom,it also takes the slaughter mechanic fromDoomas well. Where if players executed an enemy with melee kills, they would get health back, or if they used a chainsaw, enemies would drop ammo.Metal: Hellsingeris similar, and this makes things somewhat easier, but also helps the player keep the momentum. If an enemy is staggered, they can come in and slaughter them, and drop a lot of health. In boss battles, this becomes helpful because at every other stage bosses spawn enemies, and players can stagger them to get more health. This makes using the Styx Crystals good for emergency use.

1Not Doing The Totems

These are challenges that players can unlock right after they’ve beaten the level of Hell, and if they beat the challenges, they get a boon that they can equip and helps them in the game. Just like the horde mode inDoom: Eternal,these Totems require playersto complete challengesin order to get the boons. And to unlock a stronger boon that players already have, the previous one needs to be unlocked as well. If players don’t do them, the difficulty goes right up and makes things rather unbearable, and going without boons against a boss is hard.

The great thing about these Totems is since they have challenges for each of them, they encourage players to fight in different ways, which can make them even more deadly since they don’t have to rely on one playstyle. On top of that, the boons give fans an edge and allow them to get into a flow that can make them fight more aggressively. Totems just make things a lot more tangible, and along with other factors, makesMetal: Hellsingerreplayable.
