The new Nintendo Direct trailer forMaster Detective Archives: Rain Codehas confirmed that the mystery adventure game will be arriving on June 30, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. That allows it to hopefully arrive before the crush oflate 2023 AAA games, so it will be able to stand out on its own.

Master Detective Archives: Rain Code’s new trailer introduces the game’s protagonists Yuma of the World Detective Organization and the spirit haunting him, Shinigami. Yuma investigates crimes within a ward controlled by a likely nefarious corporation. He’ll also work with other detectives in the organization, each said to have their own unique supernatural ability. These abilities and more will be necessary to solve the mysteries to be found inMaster Detective Archives: Rain Code.

What’s made clear in the new trailer is thatMaster Detective Archives: Rain Codefeatures heavy supernatural elements. Spirits and supernatural powers are pervasive throughout the game. That should allow the developers atToo Kyo Games and Spike Chunsoftto get really experimental in ways that evenDanrangronpamay not have been able to try.

Just like with theDanganronpaseries, part ofwhat makesMaster Detective Archives: Rain Codeso interestingis how mysterious it is. There’s still plenty of time beforeMaster Detective Archives: Rain Code’s launch in June, but even then players will only discover what the game is really about once they play it. Revealing its secrets too early would spoil the fun.
