WhileMarvel’s Spider-Man 2is still over a year away, fans have been discussing potential mechanics for the follow-up. Yet another feature suggestion sees aMarvel’s Spider-Man 2fan pushing for the ability to web-swing from low structures.
Thus far,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2fans have suggested several new features, from random events like building fires to combat additions like the ability to fight on walls. As for web-swinging, gamers want to see the ability to web launch into the air as well as the addition of web wings, which would let Spidey glide through the sky like he does in the comics and Tom Holland’sMCUmovies. Now, gamers want the ability to swing from low structures.

In the originalMarvel’s Spider-Manand its spin-offSpider-Man: Miles Morales, Spidey was not able to get super low whenswinging through New York. Outside of Central Park, he was unable to swing from trees either, and when he did there was a moment of floatiness before Spidey shot his next web. As such, Reddit user TheSpider12 wants the option forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2to let players “occasionally” attach webs to trees and lower portions of building. To illustrate why this would be a good addition, the player uses a clip from Fortnite.
Fortnite’s web shootershave received plenty of praise, and for good reason. The mechanic sees players chaining swings together to zoom across the battle royale map, and mastering the mechanics feels incredibly rewarding. While there are urban areas like the Daily Bugle and Tilted Towers, a lot of the map is more open. As such, the ability to swing from trees is a must, something that is shown in TheSpider12’s clip. As seen in the footage, there is a lot of momentum when Spidey is close to the ground, allowing the swing’s arc to look better.
In the films and the comics, fans have always seenshots of Spider-Mancoming close to the ground with his swings, ending up inches above moving vehicles and civilians. Being able to capture these moments inside the sequel would undoubtedly be a lot of fun, with players able to get momentum quickly if they risk swinging at low angles. In the comments, Redditor PlanetStealthy improved the idea further by suggesting an animation where Spidey skids across the ground if he gets too close to the floor. Another user, kyewen9, suggests the option to hit the ground running and jump into the air to keep swinging, maintaining momentum.
Withnews onMarvel’s Spider-Man 2likely still a fair bit away, fans will need to keep waiting for information on the game’s mechanics. With so many solid suggestions like this, though, Insomniac could easily look to its fan base for ways to improve the sequel.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is scheduled to release in 2023 on PS5.
