Mario Kart Tourhas revealed a brand-new trailer for its latest track, as well as its next tour. Following the hashtag initiative of #TraveltheWorldwithMarioKart, the next course coming to the game is called Singapore Speedway.
Nintendo’s popular mobile title spinoff of its iconicMario KartIP has seen plenty of success and new content since first launching in September 2019. The globe-trottingMario Kart Tourgoes beyond the expected Mushroom Kingdom locales, with courses inreal-world locations like Sydney, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, and Los Angeles. The real-world courses are usually accompanied by their own Tour, as is the case with the newest location.

Revealed on the officialMario Kart TourTwitter account, the trailer for Singapore Speedway showcases a mix of screenshot stills and actual gameplay video. The 49-second clip reveals players will appear to be racing through and around Singapore Harbor in Singapore, the eponymous capital of the country found in Southeast Asia. The screenshots reveal plenty of verticality, taking advantage of the city’s signature skyscrapers. The trailer also reveals a vacation version of Luigi, sporting shorts, shades, Singapore-stamped luggage, and a chic green polo with a mushroom print - a look bound to quickly become a fan favorite.
The new Singapore Speedway and accompanying Singapore Tour is certainly great news forMario Kart Tourfans, but mainlineMario Kartfans may also have something to look forward to soon. A video game industry analyst is claiming thatMario Kart 9is in “active development"and that Nintendo may even reveal the long-awaited sequel later this year. There have been several rumors regarding the game’s development, including the title beingMario Kart Crossroads, and the game featuring a much wider cast of Nintendo characters beyond theSuper MarioIP, possibly in the vein ofSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.
With a new consoleMario Karttitle likely on the way and the internationalMario Kart Tourreceiving fresh new content, the IP is as popular as its ever been in its storied 30-year history.The franchise truly has a global reach, as proven by Olympic Gold medalist Usain Bolt. In a recent interview,Bolt revealed he is a big fan ofMario Kart, and gaming in general. The Jamaican track star was asked if video games likeMario Kartplayed a part in building his competitive drive, to which he confidently replied “it helped, it helped.”
